Why I shunned PDP's money – Edo Widow

Oshiomhole employs widow, gives her N2m

A widow -turned celebrity, Mrs. Joy Ifijeh has explained why she shunned the N250, 000 offered to her by the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State.

Mrs. Ifijeh asked the PDP to give the money to other widows in need, saying, “I don’t want people to use me for politics.”

She spoke shortly after collecting her letter of appointment at the office of the Secretary to the Edo State Government.

Mrs. Ifijeh said, “I did not receive any money from PDP. I am okay. They should use that money to help another widow. The PDP did not reach or invite me to the meeting. I will tell them thank you but will not collect it. I will tell them to give it to other widows.”

She promised to lead in the campaign against street trading and selling on walkways because she has learnt her lessons.

She, however, called for assistance in the bids to collect her late husband’s benefits from the police authorities.

Mrs. Ifijeh said her husband died last year shortly after graduating from an Inspectorate course, adding that all efforts to collect his benefit were not successful.

    2. How dare you call someone's mother useless? You are indeed the useless one one - as useless as your mother! Common sense should tell you 2million is greater than 250k.

  3. She has not said anything wrong oga/madam. Let PDP (pipo decive pipo) use d fund to care for another widow. If she collect am nw u go say she too greedy. In naija u enjoy wen d govt favours u so its her turn today cos d govt of d dAy is on her side. Simple question- where was pdp and their foundation for widows b4 dis event? Even pdp chair said he is giviing her 50k frm his pocket as though that is any cost to him considering all that he is benefiting frm abj. Jah is Watching all.

  9. No matter what Gov. Oshiomole does to the Widow again, the truth is, he made his true identity known. Insensitivity. The reaction of the PDP prompted the Gov.'S remorse. Must not the PDP be commended, rather than vilified ? Let's call spade, spade

  11. God please set me up for a blessing like this woman o! Whatever people say does not matter. God has visited her the way He wants. And very soon, people in the Police Affairs Ministry that might have collected her husband's benefits will soon cough it out. Except she doesn't say it to her new Uncle Oshiomole.

  12. Woman you're an Ingrate of the highest order. If PDP did not rescue you Oshiomole would not have realized himself, now you turned around to insult your help. It God who brought PDP to put Oshiomole to shame and spot before he back. You would have kept quite even if you returned the money. Because you do not know who will be on the sit tomorrow. Do pay people with evil after receiving good from them.

  13. Democracy at work. Vibrant opposition to watch the steps of the ruling party so that they won't relax. The PDP should also be preparing to play a greater role as opposition party at the centre and also try to win a state like Lagos so that the people will benefit more in this democratic arrangement. I congratulate the woman, I congratulate the PDP and I congratulate Oshiomole and hid his party APC. God has a way of answering people's prayers. She should make sure that she returns the glory to God Almighty. The state governments should also build shops for the citizens because I'm sure that there are other citizens widows inclusive who also need genuine assistance.

  15. There is time for everything. This is God's time for the widow to be lfted up. However, many Nigerians are yet to learn how to make public opinion with decorum. We shpuld mind our utterances in public. If I were the widow, I would collect both and set up a project for other widows, after all, it's our national cake. I 'm sure, she's palying on her conscience which is rare in most Nigerians of today.

  16. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE WOMAN IS TILL WEARING THE CLOTH SHE WORE ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT MR OSHIOMOLE'S OFFICE? I THINK SOMETHING LOOKS SUSPICIOUS HERE FRIENDS. CHECK IT OUT. NA ONLY ONE CLOTH SHE DEY WEAR? ALEXIS

  17. Nigerians would stop complaining. The law has no respect for any body whatever the comrad gov. might have said to the widow is out of provocation which he has apologised and rehabilitate her with some financial aid ie money to rent a shop. what else do you want him to do?
