The British High Commission in Nigeria on Wednesday announced a new system of visa application whereby applicants will pay for UK visa online in US dollars.
In a statement by its Press and Public Affairs Officer, Mr Rob Fitzpatrick, the commission said the new system would begin on December 16.
“From December 16, 2013, all applications for UK visa must be completed using our online application system and paid for online in US dollars. Payment can be made using a Verve debit card, Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards or the e-wallet PAGA.
“The move to online application and payment will deliver a streamlined process. It is consistent with a wider global trend to online transactions and payments,’’ it said.
The commission added that the new system had met the requirements of the UK Government’s Digital by Default Initiative.
It expressed optimism that the system would cut costs in the management of visa operation as well as help to reduce visa fees. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

I will even advise they stop all these stupid Agent- VFS that makes the visa cost go higher.UK should be able to handle it by themselves.
ReplyDeleteI think we should ask the British Government if they will accept the Naira to be used in paying for Nigerian visas from the UK.
ReplyDeleteDude, they didn't say payment will be done using the pounds sterling or euro so get γσuя facts straight. If the Nigerian High Commission in the UK wants тo adopt such system, they can, without approval from the British Government, they just have тo use the world currency which is the US dollars.
