  1. Our youths know that there is no reward for hard work in Nigeria. All they have to do is look around them and see that the classroom ode and thug are the ones rewarded with political office, militancy, yahoo yahoo etc. They are nit stupid

  3. Some body checked results online this morning and what was written there is " Results not available for this candidate in the specified year'' . What is the problem? Are all results yet to be fully uploaded in the internet?

  4. WAEC is the cause of this failure because of their profit drive. This is because WAEC do not always control those who enroll for the examinations. Many of those that always sit for this examinations are SS1 and SS2 students who could not even pass the internal examinations in their school, but because of WAEC profit drive, they would not scrutinize the students. There was a time WAEC said only candidates that sat for May/June would be qualified to write the November/December, but are actually doing that? Well, I want to congratulate WAEC for this result, despite all the examinations malpractices that many of these students engaged in. I think WAEC should do more to always fish out those who engaged in examinations malpractices, especially their supervisor that usually connive with the students and the invigilators and also prosecute them. There is a bill on examination malpractices but I have never saw WAEC prosecuted any candidate. WAEC should reward their supervisors highly may be that would discourage many of them from all these ill.

  5. I think NE needs an editor asap. How can 17 candidates represent 20.73% of 296,827 that sat for the exam? (Paragraph 2, lines 3 and 4). Many of your publications are having serious syntax (grammatical) and logical errors these days. If it is not the representation of a man with the pronoun she and vice versa, it is the presentation of wrong values as the outcome of basic arithmetic.

    2. You cannot treat the symptom and expect the disease to go away you have to treat the cause of the disease. Truth be told students cheat because at the end of the school year they still do not know or understand the subject matter especially in mathematics. If they understand what they need to know they will have no need to malpractice. If this problem has been consistent for over decade and is happening at all levels of education in Nigeria, then is safe to say the method used in teaching in Nigeria is broken. The question we need to ask is why do students not fully understand concepts presented in school. The answer is simple - the method in which we teach students mathematics in schools. We love and emulate western music, lifestyle, dress code and much more, yet the thing we need to emulate the most as a society, western world method of education we failed to recognize. America and other advanced countries use modern day technological tools (video demonstrations, rich media) to teach in order to make learning interesting and understandable for students. It is not too late to make necessary changes. We need to start now and treat the root, we need to start at the primary level so by the time the children get to secondary school or university they will have a solid foundation needed to excel.
