Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano State yesterday asked Nigerians to work together to kick out the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) out of power in 2015.
Nigerians, he said , are yearning for change in every facet of life and the time for it has come.
The governor spoke when a delegation of the former CPC members from Kano, led by Brig. Gen. Lawal Jafaru Isa (rtd), paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Kano.
“Every rational person knows that we need change. The PDP used to be an umbrella for everybody, but it is now a hat for one man. Some people are holding the country hostage so we must come together to rescue it”, he said.
“The issue is not that of tribalism. Nigerians, irrespective of where they come from, have been existing as friends and brothers for long, but when somebody from the South South took over the mantle of leadership of the country, things started drifting. That is why we must come together to save this country”, he added.
He stressed that in every democratic system, citizens have a right to voice out their feelings, regarding how they are governed, explaining that the APC is a collection of progressives that are not only determined to cry out against injustice, but also determined to ensure that Nigerians get the right calibre of people to lead them.
On the recent defection of five PDP governors to the APC, Governor Kwankwaso stated that it is only a tip of the iceberg, pointing out that more governors will soon leave the party as it has lost credibility and potency to take Nigeria to the Promised Land.
Governor Kwankwaso described his guests as partners in progress, highlighting that it is in line with his belief in the politics of ideology and development as against enmity and mistrust.
In his speech, Brig. Gen. Isa told the governor that the visit was to express their solidarity and loyalty to the governor as leader of the APC, urging him to carry everybody along in the quest to ensure that the ruling PDP is dislodged at all levels in the country.
“ The APC has its problems which can be resolved amicably. We urge you to be patient and continue to provide good leadership to the people. All members of the party are equal so I wish to appeal to you to call our members that have grudges to come forth so that things can be sorted out. Our doors are open, and as progressives, we must be willing to embrace all.”
The former CPC chietain was accompanied to the Government House, Kano by a former Deputy Governor of the state, Engr. Magaji Abudullahi; Alhaji Aliyu Danmaraya; Alhaji Haruna Ungogo; Alhaji Sabo Nanono and Alhaji Hamisu Buhari, among others. Kwankwaso, you are the most ungrateful human being in nigeria politics today!
ReplyDeletePDP made you a governor in 1999, but in 2003, you were disgraced out of power by ANPP(Shekarau). Nevertheless, PDP ensured your image remained elevated by making you a minister (Ministry of Defence) and by that you were able to gather additional strength and resouces, hence your return to power in 2011.
How does the crisis in PDP affect you or your state to start with?? your solidarity with your godfather and "friends" in the now defunct nPDP may be considered to be in order.
I also agreed that no permanent friend or enemy in politics, but for you to start castigating PDP and asking people to kick the party out in 2015 shows clearly how despicable you were. I can now understand why good and intelligent people of Kano decided to kick you out in 2003. The major factor that led to your fall in 2003 was attributed to your lack of respect for elders and ungratefulness to the people that ensure you became the governor then(1999). The same trait you are now manifesting, because you are no longer seeking for people's votes for another term.
Whatever crisis PDP may be facing today, your behaviour should not be different from Gov. Aliyu Babangida and Sule Lamido who chose to remain in PDP to help salvage the party. We ae all watching how far your star will shine in your new found bride.
Nigerians and ofcourse Kano people are not fools. Take a clue from Shekarau, a stable and loyal, coherent and very consistent politician.
No one tries this (your attitude) in South West where I come from and still remain relevant.
We are watching!
Not pdp reelected kwankwaso into power but his foresite habit and good govning pdp is not d word of GOD up kwankwasiya rmain bless.
ReplyDeleteOga anonymous forget that craft talk of yours, what make kwankwaso ungrateful. Those people that vote and made him a governor and a minister are the same people that want him out,so whats the big deal. A man has the right change his mind at any given time, politic is a matter of intrest. People change their religion when the need arises talkless of changing a political party,if tarauni decide today change the party of “snipers“and “militant“ (pdp) i so no reason why should some fell offended. Rubbish talk!
