The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Friday criticised the life sentence given to the mastermind of the 2011 Christmas day bombing of the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State, Kabiru Umar, saying that he should have been sentenced to death.
CAN spoke through its General Secretary, Rev Musa Asake.
Asake told a source in a telephone interview shortly after the life sentence was delivered that ‘’Kabiru Umar, alias Kabiru Sokoto is supposed to die for causing the death of 44 innocent Christians,’’ pointing out that the court was lenient to him.
According to him, ‘’Sokoto has no reason to be alive. He is evil. I hope they will not just put him there to deceive us and later free him to walk the streets.
‘’He wants to suffer. He started killing innocent people. I hope they should give him death sentence instead of life jail. Why should such a hardened murderer be fed again in prison with tax payers money.
In any case, his being in jail for life will make him not see other parts of the world or whom to kill again. Nobody should think of pardoning him in future.’’ Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Kabiru Sokoto does not deserve to live. The court should have sentenced him to death to suffer with the devil in hell. There is no reason for leaving a murderer like him to stay alive. May he reap what he has sown.
ReplyDeleteSURE, HE DESERVES NOTHING LESS. ITS SAD THAT, NIGERIA AS A NATION DOES NOT VALUE HUMAN LIVES AND ANY NATION THAT DOES NOT PLACE VALUE ON HUMAN LIVES, DOES NOT PROSPER. WHAT IS LIFE IMPRISONMENT, WHEN ANOTHER ABOKI WILL COME ON BOARD AND GIVE HIM PRESIDENTIAL PARDON. I THINK CAN NEEDS TO APPEAL THIS JUDGEMENT. WHAT DO YOU THINK. PLEASE DON'T BRING RELIGION IR TRIBE INTO THIS ISSUE.
ReplyDeleteHe may deserve to die and so does everyone if not for the sacrifice that Christ made for us. Let's learn to always emulate Christ in everything we do by showing love and mercy all situation, that's what makes us Christians. The life sentence is enough, who knows the future? He may later repent of his deeds and be saved. My humble opinion based on the commandment of Christ.
ReplyDeleteHis gang will soon bumber the place and take him away
