The 11 governors of the All Progressives Congress have congratulated the five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party who defected to the opposition party.
They described the defected governors as “courageous for taking the historic step of leaving the governing, albeit, fast crumbling PDP into the progressives fold.”
A statement signed by the 11 APC governors, including Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Monday night, said that their coming to the APC, “despite all manners of intimidation, harassment and persecution by the Federal Government and the PDP is worthy of commendation and is indicative of a strong personal principles and commitment to the progress of Nigeria.”
They said considering the nature of achievements recorded in their respective states, the defected governors had no business belonging to a party they described as a party that had no democratic traditions.
They said the PDP had no plan for Nigeria beyond wasting public resources and further impoverishing Nigerians in spite of unprecedented oil revenues.
The APC governors, under the aegis of Progressive Governors Forum, said they were welcoming the affected governors.
They said that by coming into the fold of the progressives, the G5 had opted to discard the politics of corruption, nepotism and deception in favour of transparent and accountable leadership that was being governed by the principles of progress, integrity and equity.

ReplyDeleteWhich dirty progressives??? you are all bound to fail cos we are all aware that you are no different and are even worse off than those you aspire to replace. These governors are going to be your major undoing as a party and by Gods grace Nigeria will be better for it. Those who livve in glass houses shudnt throw stones they say. PDP is going to become even stronger and more effficient and you guys are powerless to do anything about it. Its been less than 24hrs and we aleady have 2 of the so called rebel govs denying having decamped. At the end of the day it will be a case of these govs betraying APC; mark my words.
ReplyDeleteAmechi did not reason well before joining them . the 2 of the governors has pulled off already that is politic 4 u , and Amechi did not with them some of them will still pull back and PDP will accept and 4giv dem but Amechi won't have that chance to come back . Hes a disgrace . Amechi you left your broda and u join Hausa men to fight him idiot .you will suffer wait till 2015 you will rot in EFCC cell .
