NigerianEYE can officially confirm that the Seven aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party have announced their decision to leave the old PDP and merge with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governors, at the meeting they had with the leadership of the APC in Abuja on Tuesday, said their decision was aimed at rescuing the country.
A former Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, announced the decision after the meeting, which was held at Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
Among the governors at the meeting were that of Rivers (Rotimi Amaechi), Kano(Rabiu Kwankwanso), Adamawa(Murtala Nyako), Kwara(Badulfatah Ahmed) and Niger(Dr. Babangida Aliyu).
The governors of Jigawa and Sokoto states, Sule Lamido and Aliyu Wamakko respectively were absent.
Baraje said the governors were part of the decision.
Some leaders of the APC like its Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; and a former Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), were in attendance.
The meeting ended at about 12.30am. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Cool! The stage is now set for the drama let us continue watching.
ReplyDeleteThey Should go and rescue their self and family from their greed and leave nigeria alone,,,, they are all second term Governors who are looking for something higher...
ReplyDeleteFrustrated Men,,,, their Devilish Fatherism (IBB,,ABUBAKER,BUHARI,TINUBU)))) will fail them all...
is is a good development for our young democracy. Atleast, this will make PDP as a political party stand on its toes and give run for their money. Hence, delivers the dividends of democracy to the electorates. Am so so happy to receive this news with no special preference for any political party; we need change and political competition. Is high time things changed for the better for us in this country. It is a wellcome development,2015 is going to be a year full with suprises politically .Laycon
ReplyDeletegood one for democracy, congrats APC. At least we now have a strong opposition party.
ReplyDeleteWith two strong parties, i think power will now be with the masses. I pray we vote right come 2015
Adbulkadir Adoke and Khalid will be happy with this news. However, I wonder what an Igala man from Ankpan(Adoke) stand to gain in all this. His schooling in UNIMAID has transform him into a radical, yet he earns his living as a F/MATHS teacher in a Christain school. I pity this MUMU from Kogi state.
ReplyDeleteuseless people rescuing the country or your fighting for your pocket.....let the general public decide u cant form a party and win election without the approval of the general public...as you go the country will rest go and join the rest...mouted party
ReplyDeleteNo more sitting on d fence again, this is a welcome DEVELOPMENT for the poor masses, I had opportunity to travelled to all parts of this country, people are seriously suffering. The time for change has come. let give another party a chance, PDP is the problem of NIGERIA not Goodluck
ReplyDeleteThe stage is now set for well grounded politics in the country, the PDP boast that they will rule for 60years wwithout nothing to show,no roads,no power, our healthcare system is zero, education is nothing to write home about, the implication of the merger by the G7 governors is that we'll now have a strong opposition party who will tackle the PDP come 2015.I dey laff ooo.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS ooo
ReplyDeleteRIP Rotim
ReplyDeleteInteresting movie am waiting for the part 2
ReplyDeleteFrankly speaking el matosky this is good for our middle age democracy i.e. Opposition, because objective criticism keep leaders on alart. Less i forget, you said Adoke obtained his Bsc mathematics from unimaid. Can you tell us where you obtained your Phd from?.
ReplyDeleteU av spoken well.
DeleteMake dem go jo! Da truth is dat dis sect of guys wunt win da 2015 election. Wat we hav in dis party r religious fanatics, hungry 4 power. Bt da gudnews 4 u guys is, u all shall b put 2shame. Buhari shuld b ready 2cry again jst da he did da last time he lost. Dis tim around he shuld make sure dat tinubu is around wen he iz going 2fail dis time. Ironically, I feel 4 ameachi. Dis guys shall suck evry bit of blood left in ur veins, wat has light to wit darkness? Ameachi u're a light kipin companion wit pple of da dark. Dey will ruine u nd bring u down. Well if u sensible enough u wuld knw dat dis guys r devils indisguise. 2015 iz nt nd neva 4 APC. even PDP losses, it wuld neva b 2 APC.

Amaechi u are a big disgrace
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Amaechi!!!! You have just kissed your political future goodbye.
ReplyDeleteThis is something we have all been expecting to happen,we all knew it'll happen but the question was when will it happen? All the other 6 governors may gain something from this, but Rotimi Amaechi,No!! He'll be used and dumped and then he'll wake up in the middle of 2015 in an Efcc cell,or maybe he'll run out of the country as Ibori did and then he'll realise that blood is thicker than water when his northern allies fail him........we're watching and waiting
ReplyDeleteIt is ok but apc is not a national party
ReplyDeleteAPC members might be religious fanatics but I think they have something to offer Nigerians...
ReplyDeleteBunch of deceivers to the people of Nigerians, self centered people and religious fanatics, who cares even of you guys in million to merge with another party, just wait for your water loo, is a pity sha Amechi of all people? you stared well but I'm afraid about this your ending, you don't know patient is all what you need in life, anyway God will deliver Nigerians from these so called politicians, amen, for you guys has really fail this country
ReplyDeleteMany comments here amaze me! Besides, many of you who are crying foul did not for in previous elections and you don't have voter's card as well. 2015 election is around the corner, would you come out to vote when the chips are down? Now you can hide behind small data given to you and vomitting rubbish! Its written in our 1999(as amended) constitution that you are at liberty to join any association-emphasis mine. Amaechi is free to follow his mind and GEJ is also free to contest as well. All ethnic bigots should keep off!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 11:15 am, does the constitution also allow for one to be voted for under one party and decamp to another party if the party does not have 2 recognised factions. Ameachis seat if you do not know belongs to the pdp in the state because the ruling that installed him specifically states that pdp won the election and that it was he and not Omehia that won the pdp primaries. Yes they are free to join any party they so desire but must also relinquish everything they have gained under the pdp
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, do you understand what you just said? Those ANPP governors that defected to PDP nko? O boi, don't talk what you don't know. If you don't have the clear knowledge of what you're saying, ask those who are knowlegeable joor.
Deletewhy some people likes talking nonsense.so u will just fould ur hands and be watching this type of politice been play by jonathan.pls allow then to tacle those call pdp shamles fouls
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmmmn i think this should be the best news ever for we the christian in the midle belt, the time for us to rule Naija is here come 2015. any wise political party that pick her candidate from midlebelt xtian is already a winner. good news!!!!!! you selfish nothern politian you better join us.
