"Today, Tuesday, November 26, 2013, my friend and client, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, was arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, around the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pm by the country's gendarmes (Police Force).
"He was picked up around the Lubeleyi roundabout and taken to an unknown destination," Keyamo said.
He said Asari-Dokubo carries on legitimate business in the tiny West African country and has been living partly in Benin Republic for many years now.
"In fact, he owns houses, schools and an academy in that country. All these places have been searched as at this evening and nothing incriminating was found," Keyamo said.
He said there are indications that Dokubo's arrest and detention are a ploy by certain forces in Nigeria in unholy alliance with the Beninoise government to keep him away as 2015 approaches.
"We call on the Nigerian government to immediately intervene and ensure that no harm befalls Alhaji Dokubo-Asari and to use all diplomatic means to secure his immediate release and safe return to Nigeria," he said. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteWho is Asari ?
DeleteIs this the same Festus Keyamo that we all know? what a shame, so it is true that 'there is always a price tag'. Even Festus has a price.
ReplyDeleteLegitimate business indeed, even when it is glaring de source of his wealth is questionable.

ReplyDeleteFestus is a desperate lawyer thinks handling controversial issues makes you a good lawyer. Asari will go down including those who promise to shed blood by 2015.
ReplyDeleteGood news,i'm happy!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy should Nigeria get involved in matter between a country and her citizen, may Festus have forgoten that his client have denounce Nigeria and have announce Benin as his country

ReplyDeletewhat is he doing by dat hour of d day, still somel out there is saying that he has legitimate business he's doing nd also own houses nd schools, then y was he arrested. Fools.
ReplyDeleteDon't be mumus here, do u have any doc or publication that Asari has denounce Nigeria $ now a Benenoise? If he has done anything over there, then let them arrest him, Keyamo is a legal person, if he is also there for ilegal practices, let him go in, he's just practicing he's carrer $ getting paid
ReplyDeleteThat's good news, very very good one indeed. Firstly, as from his lawyer's pronounciations we have come to know that this crude, illiterate terrorist is running a school and other businesses in that country. No need asking how he got his money, because we know how - the federal government pays him for terrorizing Nigerians. Secondly, we now know that this idiot does not even live in Nigeria, his country that he has sworn to cause its divide if his pay master Jonathan is not re-elected in 2015. He is has opted to build a sc hool or university in another ones country while he is working ernestly with the powers in this country to destroy our educational system so as to force our children to seek education in their universioties they have stolen our money to build in other countries. The blood and tears of Nigerians will always haunt these criminals. Let them hold him there, good a thing these neighbouring countries don't condone corrupt practices like it is in Nigeria, so he (Asari) should not think of buying over those guys. One is also surprised that Keyamo should be the counsel to this criminal, Keyamo who is always heard to be critical about these bad guys is seen here asking the government to intervene? I know GEJ will, because of his romance with criminals/militants.
ReplyDeleteYeah, why would Nigeria interfare with a case the Beninoise government decided to take-up with her citizen? This is a breach of another country's sovereignty. I advise against such after all, it will further potray Nigeria as a lawless country where everything goes provided you're connected. Deal with the idiot and let him know Nigeria may let things go because they fear backlash but other countries, even weak ones like Benin, have laws which must be respected.
ReplyDeletei pray he is held there for life. its a big lesson for him, he thinks he can misbehave in anoda mans country? i pray they deal with him. he better import militants frm naija 2 sort him out> big ugly fool.
ReplyDeleteHe must done something wrong in benin Republic to be arrested. Let him face the music alone. Let keyamo as his legal adviser fight for his release
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder if these guys can understand that as much as they want to believe they do not own Nigeria. Last time I checked the man said he does not believe in Nigeria? So now he recognise Nigeria count for something?lol let the paf stay there joo. At least he will know that not all countries have been turned to a banana republic the way his brother has turned Nigeria to.
ReplyDeleteBastard idiot let him die there u never see anytin yet
ReplyDeleteIf you can hate your corrupt leaders as much as you hurl abuses at this man then nigeria would not be in such a failed state of a pathetic mess that it would not have produced such radicals in the first place. Get your priorites right. Ignorance is bliss!
ReplyDeleteNa wa o why did u people hate this guy like this you did not complain on bookoharam leader that is killing people like a fowls everyday....naija God will save us
