The first leg of the match was played on Ethiopian soil on October 13 with a 2-1 victory for Nigeria.
The outcome of the second leg of the match will determine if the Super Eagles of Nigeria or the Ethiopians will feature at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next year.
NigerianEYE spoke with some Nigerians in Lagos today, and asked what they think would be the outcome of the match.
Charles Ebong, who is an indigene of Cross Rivers State, NE ‘’I believe our players have prepared well for the game. With what they played at the first leg, I believe they will also win the second leg.
‘’We have quality players in the team. I know they will play well.’’
Another football fan, Tunde Yunus, said: ‘’The Golden Eaglets just won the U-17 World Cup in Abu Dhabi. This should encourage our Super Eagles to also play well and win Ethiopia. I know they will try.’’
One other fan who identified himself as Matthew Davidson, a resident of Ojodu, said he was very confident Nigeria would win the match.
‘’It’s our game now. It is a definite win. I am sure we will give them 2-0 or 2-1. I am very confident of that.’’
However, not every Super Eagles fan is optimistic of Nigeria winning the game.
Seyi Adeleke expressed his fears that Nigeria may lose the qualifier match due to what he referred to as ‘overconfidence.’
‘’You know the way our players always play. They will win one game today and feel relaxed on the next.
‘’Though we won our first game, but I am sure the Ethiopians will come out with a great attack because the odds are against them.
‘’The Ethiopians can really play if you watched the first game. They would want nothing less than a win.
‘’This is where the Super Eagles should be careful. Nigeria may lose the match if they are not careful,’’ Seyi said.
He however expressed hope that the Nigerian team would capitalise the advantage of being at home to win the match.
The match will be played on Saturday at the U.J. Esuene stadium in Calabar by 4 p.m.
