Enugu First Lady Clara Chime Under House Arrest Imposed By Governor Chime, Cries For Help

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her.

In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.

Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.

“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house. He treats my Mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote.

The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”

The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.

According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu state (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.

Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding. However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.

“He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave he instructs them to lock me in. I have told him through Sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed
his securities to lock me inside the house.”

Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.

Of the situation in Government House, she said, “He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my elf, my Mum and few of my siblings,” she said in the letter. He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from.”

She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.

“Police and SS men have been instructed by Br Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises,” she said, begging, “Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me.”

  12. Sorry! my dear , that's what u receive from divorcee. U knew the governor married before and this wicked acts must have been the cause of his broken relationship, and here u are in prison in ur own house.

It's a very big lesson for other smart girls to learn that all that gliters is not gold;but I pray that Almighty God will heal ur marriage Clara! - because is not even good for a whole governor to be jumping from on women to the other.
This common problem is enough for the governor to resign;but u can see the nation is known for corruption!

Finaly! I wonder why Enugu state governors faces marital crisis;before former governor Chimaroke Nnamani left govt. House he had a terrible problem with his wife, this is evil spirit's occultic powers operating there,so- any one aspiring to lead Enugu should surrender to Christ first before thinking of sitting down there that's my advice because is not good u break ur peaceful and lovely home just for a chicken wealth that cannot even take u to heaven;but hell fire!

  26. Is very unfortunate that a particular tribe has the guts to be calling another tribe names in terms of marriage while they record high number of broken marriages in the country. I dont like sounding tribalistic when am commenting but I was pushed to the wall. Pls be wise when commenting!

  29. Hello my beloved brethren of Nigeria, I ve listened to ur varoious opinions, of a truth, I will say, some are good suggestions but t majority of the comments are not..... In my opinion, I will advce dat we should incorcate the habit of proferring solution to matters like this..., by showing some care!!! First she was able to identify her predicament, though the course of the problem is yet unknown,. And I know dat the gov. Have reason as well, which we all ve to find out.,b4 drawing conclusion , however, to treat the matter as it were, I would suggest that the human right organization take necessary action to savage the situation. While I pray that Almghty God should arrest the bad situation she had found herself. Amen! The point am making is that let's hear from her husband point of view b4 jumping into conclusion! Why I vehemently discreditd some opinion earlier was cos they brought religion and tribalism into it, which was very wrong of them to do. And the correction has come from our LEADERS! Let me digress a little, take for instance, with all due respect, Gov. Oshomole whom I hold with high esteem, some few days was visited with some committee of national confab he ended by politicizing it rather than in the first instance commend the effort of the committee.! May GOD help us to love o e another and see ourselves as one. Amen!!!
    is yet unknown

  30. I won't advice u to leave your 4yr old son to start to carry to burden you cold not carry. The boy is who I am particular about'cos he just too young to start to be without a mother and confidant ,however keep on praying ,there is nothing God cannot do.

  31. It's unfortunate that tribal and religious sentiments no longer allow us to thread the path of rational reasoning anymore in this country. It's really sad that we first make efforts to identify the tribe and religion of who is involved in whatever the issue is,and that's all we need to deviate. This is a case of total violation of someone's fundamental human rights and all we can deduce from it is tribal and religious madness. SHAME on all of you who commented on this issue based on tribal or religious sentiments.
