Embattled aviation minister, Stella Oduah absent at FEC meeting

Embattled Minister of aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, was on Wednesday absent at the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Oduah is currently in the eye of the storm over the purchase of two bulletproof cars for her by the Nigerians Civil Aviation Authority. The vehicles are valued at a whopping $1.6m (about N255m).

Many stakeholders had been calling for her sacking or resignation while the Presidency had so far kept mum on the matter.

State House correspondents who had resolved to take up the matter with the minister before or after the FEC meeting were disappointed as she failed to show up at the time the meeting started a few minutes after 10am.

  2. There is no honor in Nigeria. Imagine people protesting on her behalf. I wonder why those protesting ( Melaye) was arrested and the other group allowed? 9ija

  3. I really don't understand why the other group leader was not arrested. They were two protesting groups - one, organized (Melaye), the other, not organized (unknown). The group that interrupted Melaye's group definitely are tugs of either the FG or Oduah, who went to disrupt a peaceful demonstration by an organized group and instead of arresting the tugs the police decided to clamp down on the group asking for justice - mmtsseeewwww!!

  4. That goes to show that Nigeria Police even protect scavengers who are able to pay for their services.

  5. The arrest of Melaye and his group demonstrates clearly the side of the wall the police are. If it were just a single protesting group, it would have been easy to charge them as illegal protesters but what will the police say about the reason the other group was left out? Uhmmm... They always have something to say. What will it be this time?
