CAR SCANDAL: Nigerians on Facebook want Stella Oduah sacked (Read Comments)

Many facebook users have called for Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah’s removal over the alleged purchase of two armored cars worth N255 million naira.

NigerianEYE had subsequently sought the pulse of the masses on the issue on its Facebook Page, asking if the president should sack Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah for the recent controversy over the N255 Million cars or not.

Of the several hundreds of submissions, below are some of the randomly selected comments by Nigerians:

Leo Noble Wali: Definately yes, she's setting a bad exampe, another minister may do the same thing if no action is taken.

Adeni Awosika: Although I don't live in Naija ALOT of my family does...I think there should be across-the-board sacking of these shameless,thoughtless,heartless,greedy-as-hell ministers who are driving Naija further backward then forward and there needs to be a group that will stand up and say "No More Corruption"

Owolabi Afolabi Dawodu: Yes at least to pretend the anti. Corruption war is still on

Scholes Osasere: She should be used as an example to show that his tenure was against corruption. Did you remember what OBJ did to IG of police in his time? We are not to tell him what to do, the President should prove himself and tell Nigerians his kind of leadership.

Adizue Jioke Andre: Why Cant people understand common english ? Her ministry bought her expensive cars doesn't mean she stole, mind you dat woman was born into a rich royal family, infact she is the richest person from ogbaru L.G.A in anambra state and also one of the richest women in dat state .

Sadek Mk: I do believe he can't, because even him he's a corrupted president. Imagine ASUU are on strike about 110 days now. But he has failed to negotiate with them.. We dont have stable light no any single job for the youth, but he dont even care...!! What he is focusing is how to win election in 2015... Pls my fellow Nigerians we should wake up from our long sleeping and think how to take 9ja to the next level

Nasir Abdulkadir: No,she shouldn't. Na small deal be this, diezani wey buy private jet nko?

Oyibo Musa Umar: Ask student wey don tey for house, dem go tell u Kill her!!d car get atm or kitchen?

Israel Awonusi: Let the President throw the first stone at her if he has not a fleet of 10 private jets while the US President has only one Presidential Jet.

Nura Muhammad Nasan: So sad, so worried concerning leadership in Nigeria. Its indicate that both the Lower and Upper House of the National Assembly lack some democratic elements
that make them to fail woefully. Its obvious that the current adminstration has no direction and make corruption its priority. Just of a recent, the presidency defending fraud of about $1.6billion(N255million) by Aviation Minister… This is a shame. 225million can drill five hundred and ten (510) boreholes at #500, 000 per borehole, and this can be distributed to one borehole per Local Gov’t Area in the Country, 510 LG will benefit from it, one thousand (1 000) citizens will benefit from each bolehole daily, a total of 510 000 will benefit from… Therefore, Government should terminate her appointment.

Amadi Augustine: She bought two amoured cars for and over what? Is she going to war? The next thing now is some people are after her life. The level of wastage in this country has never been witnessed by any country in sub-Saharan Africa. Except that we have no shame, otherwise she would have resigned by now. This is sheer greed common with Nigerian political leaders no matter the political party. Compare Stella Oduah with Dora Akunyili, it is a far cry. Akunyili exhibited tact, altruism and above her life when she was shot by fake drug manufacturers. Oduah should hide her head in shame.

Gloria Ernest-Samuel: Yes! She ought to have resigned. It is insulting that someone like her could still wait to be sacked. She is shameless. I used to admire her. I thought she was as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. If I were in her position, I will apologize to Nigerians and resign. That is what integrity is all about, but she lacks that. She’s just one of those roguish politicians.*sighs* I pity her family.

Adebayo Idowu: While other Nations have Leaders Nigeria is Blessed with Looters of treasury, thieves, embezzlers, liers & haters of the truth. She is one of those who claim to be leaders but re looter let her go the way he likes goes. U can be sure she will get National honor

Nomor Terungwa Emmanuel: The federal government has no money to meet ASUU demand cos its not captured in the budget. The Aviation minister buy two cars for 225Million Naira which is not part of the 2013 budget. Out of the 225 million, 112 million is for her which the company that supply the car gave her as P.R. She deserve to be sack and made to refund the 112 million bribe collected from the company that supply the two Cars

Akor Austin: If every minister decides now that their lives are not safe and goes for cars like dis, what will happen to Nigeria? Only one person, 2 cars worth 1.6, its not fair, see hw the masses are sufering and just one person alone is spending this amnt of money on cars in the name of protecting her life. It is true, it is nothing compare to what others have stolen, but it has to stop, the harmmer need to drop on some one so others can take dressing from there.we need to change. Let her GO!!!

Dave Probity: yes!, we don’t want a corrupt leader like her, how can somebody use only N255million to buy only two cars? her car is even cost more than the Britain PM. she should go as nemesis has caught up with her.

Richii Anayo Nwobasi: Her resignation won’t stop corruption in Nigeria n according to report its a trend in the country wt all those in Power~crumbling d financial state of d country more alarming when over ten million Nigerians survive below a dollar day• I sincerely think We should stand together to FIGHT corruption from d top to the street rather than debating over her sack/resignation because whosoever is taking over from her will do worst••Pls where is Bank Ole today? N Cecilia Ibru? The list might go on••My take here~Pls let’s fight Corruption to save our yet unborn generation•

Sirajosalisu Abubakar: Why is it that politics is trying spoil my country? been a leader in any sector become a problem. people should let the woman do her job. Nigerians were kill in every second as a result of bad road people are not cmmenting on this or to call for the removal of works/transport ministers why only aviation minister?

Ekene Udeozor: Why all these aggressive comments?Did she spent the money on her own?I tought that before anything will be done,it'll first of all passed into law for negotiation? The Executives,Legislators,The Judiciary, and Ministers knew about it.I'm not supporting the dastardly act.We should not attack her aggressively, rather, the Federal Government officials should be hold responsible. Not her alone. So,stop that aggression.

Prince Ken Abdulmuktar: These past months have put me in a state of dismal disappointment in the leadership skills of our national representatives—from the President/ state House, to the House of Representatives & the Senate. Whichever side of the isle folks are on, bickering and blaming have been the only produce from weeks & weeks of so-called debate, Self-interest & dogma seem to have replaced the criteria of what’s best for the people—all the people, not some of the people. The elite have benefited while the middle class, the poor, the elderly & the disabled have suffered. With Women’s & youths Equality Time coming up, my mind harkened back to the incredible women who led the way for equal rights for women, both in the USA & Great Britain. I wondered what they had to say about the leaders of their days, countries & what the women of historical, even ancient times, from other nations had to say about theirs. As you will see in the selection that follows, every age has had its share of disappointments in the powers that be. Yet there have been great leaders among us, throughout time. What does it take to be a leader? I think that is answered by the list of prominent women & youth in edition of “Women of Wisdom,” which is coming soon, dear friend, leadership as having three parts: first is seeing what needs to be done to make things better or seeing a problem that needs fixing; second is having the vision, the skill, and the wherewithal to change the system; and third is the most important task of mobilizing the energy of others to organize and act in ways to achieve that vision.” A more excellent guidepost for supporting and developing future leaders, I cannot imagine when & who among the present or past leaders of our country think & ready for this. If men has fail lets give a chance to the women(National Youth Party)NYP 2015: Woman for President......By Prince (Ken) Abdulmuktar Prince Ken Abdulmuktar Just now

Mohammed Muritala Olajide: Yes,bcos she's a theif. No,bcos she's a kleptomaniac nd she can't resist d urge 2 steal

Uche Chris: This accusation is baseless and stupid, some people are just accusing this innocent woman for nothing, because she is under GEJ team and she is working. Those that vows to make the leadership of GEJ ungovernable.

John Nwakonobi: The cars were bought for the office.meaning dat it will be there even as she leaves the office

Baba Shehu Rilwanu: No! Bcos she is not d only one in d gov’t. All d higher ranking officers of d country are doing dsame. If d minister should resign the management of d ministry should also resign cos nothing can happen without their concent.

Magnus Tekpejereme Hwosafe: BIG NOOOO. The car was not bought in her name, it’s an official car; and until we get a final investigation report that the cost of the cars were inflated; she should remain in her noble office and continue the transformation works on the aviation industry. No sentiments.

Mabra Owei: Investigation panel report determine weda to sack or not!

Offiong Edet: If your the one in that position you will do the worst .govt is turn by turn so all of you saint wait for ur turn

Abiodun Michael Falana: NO but made to head the JTF in Maiduguri with Armoured Personnel Carrier.

  1. They should please stop accusing this woman, she is not the only person that is corrupt in Nigeria therefore, those accusing her should first of all start dealing with themselves from there own end and those that want her down fall should get lost!

  2. I wonder why d debate, its a clear fact, she should go. And I wonder why some Nigerians are defending her, particularly the ibos. Shame on those who support her. Pls Nigerians, if we continue to support currupt leaders simply because they are from our tribe, how do we expect to eradicate these curruption. Pls let us work together and fight these currupt leaders. Enough is Enough.

  3. Anon 3:23, I think u are one of the corrupt leaders we have, or u are related to this thief. If we all keep saying this whenever a corrupt leader is caught, that means we are encouraging them to keep looting public funds, it means we don't know our right. Its people like u that spoil this country.

  6. Stella Oduah kept her job for over 6 months when the scandal first broke.
Stella accompanied president Goodluck Johnson on a 5 day trip to Israel , I am sure he was sleeping with her. the only penalty she faced was losing her job.
Stella is currently building a 200 room hotel in Lagos, Scamming Obviously Pays Very Well.
