Defending champions Bayern Munich has thrashed Manchester City 3-1 in their UEFA Champions League group stage match in Manchester.
Goals to Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben put the game beyond doubt, before Alvaro Negredo responded for the Citizens with a turn-and-shoot finish on 79 minutes.
Jerome Boateng's late lunge on Yaya Toure saw the Bayern defender red-carded and reduced the Bavarian side to 10 men, as City made a push for a late comeback, but to no avail.
City's cross-town rival Manchester United led for most of the match against Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to Danny Welbeck's 18th minute opener.
But Brazillian forward Taison levelled the match on the 76th minute, following up a Yaroslav Rakitskiy cross to bury his shot past David de Gea. The game finished 1-1.
In the morning's other matches, Real Madrid sauntered to a 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen, while Paris Saint-Germain beat Benfica 3-0. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
