Why Nigeria Info FM sacked me – Popular radio presenter, Matse Nnoli reveals

Popular On-Air Personality, Matse Nnoli has been sacked by AIM Consultants, owners of Nigeriainfo FM.

She recently issued a statement detailing the reason for the termination of her appointment with the talk radio station. The budding broadcaster lost her job few months after she tied the knot.

Read below the statement…

Dear all, compliments of the day to you.

I believe a lot of you must have heard of the recent termination of my job as an OAP (On Air Personality) on 99.3 Nigeria Info Fm. Well, it is true.

I have read on several blogs that I was sacked for being arrogant, rude etc. Even recently that I lacked discipline. If I lacked discipline, I wouldn’t be successful in my career. I believe discipline, integrity and honesty goes hand in hand with true success. Ask those who have met and known me and they will tell you that this is what I live for. I am not perfect, I have made mistakes but who is perfect?

I prefer to be silent on matters like this but since silence is assumed to be consent, I will not consent to my hard earned reputation being dragged to the gutters. I worked too hard for it.

On the 2nd of September 2013 while on admission at First Consultant Medical Centre, Lagos. I received an email while on my sick bed, announcing my termination. Honestly, I was not angry but a bit shocked. I had been too sick lately due to my pregnancy and was not at my best but I expected my company to be supportive of me. Yes, I wanted them to be supportive of me because I had worked hard over the years to bring them much glory.

I know that I will see all sorts of articles and comments to discredit me but I simply ask this of you all. If you have ever met me and I was unpleasant to you, feel free to vent but If you don’t know the real me and all you have heard are insinuations, hold your peace.

I love people and always wish them well. My mentees and honest colleagues will testify to this.I love progress because I believe the sky is big enough for all the birds to fly. AIM Consultants. I am not mad at you. I believe when one door closes, another one opens. I have served you well over the years, brought you accolades. So please, let me go in peace and insiders in the Organisation who do not like guts should not use it as an opportunity to tear me down. I am a good person and YOU

ALL KNOW THIS!

God bless AIM Consultants, I learnt a lot from you and I am grateful. God bless us all!

  1. Excellent! Worthy statement from a generous heart. The Skye is the limit. You are on your way to greatness. God is taking you higher. I really dont understand how a sack letter will be delivered on a sick bed. If that is tru, the government should revisit our labor law o

  4. Heyyyy Matse, I listened to you every time before I left Nigeria. See life is full of ups and downs, but trust me, you are a light that cannot be hidden....one door closes, another more convenient door opens. just keep being you.....you have touched so many lives even without you knowing, and I think making positive impacts wherever you find yourself is what matters...that you did while with 'them'. Watch and see things unfold.

  8. Am not so shock with this, I once worked for those pple and I have withness them sack pple for no reason and believe me they have a strange way of sacking pple. An OAP like matse was sacked in d same manner cos she was pregnant and was always sick. Nigeria labour needs to look into this foreigner's way of treating staff in our country, we refuse to be treated like slaves in our country. Evil pple. Matse dear take heart, God will fight ur battle.

  9. For whatever she may have done, sacking her while on hospital bed is absolutely disgusting and wicked. Many organizations discriminate against pregnant women because they sometimes miss work a lot due to frequent sickness but this lady has served you for a long time nau. Were you guys not born by a woman? This is wicked. NLC and TUC are blind and deaf now, it's only FGN that can bribe them, that they fight against. Their real duties have been abandoned. Shior NLC!!!!!!!!

  17. One needs to be cautious and remove imotion on this issue. Many of job seekers upthere are not always bother about the policy of their potential employers before they jump onto signing job contract.
Someone would like to say "what do you expect from hungry job seekers?" or " Beggers have no choice"
One needs to be rational when it comes to taking appintment in order to sign one death warrant and later apportion blames on the employer.
We must know that the main objective of any Business Enterprise is "PROFIT MAKING". After profit others things come in.
Job satisfaction is very important but many people don't worry about this at the point of entry. What you will not tolerate at old age you must reget it at your youth age.
A business enterprise must be able to continuously and regularly supply goods or reder service at an acceptable standard and at a market condition in order to be in business and make profit to pay salaries and meet up with other issues of finance.
Matse did not let us know for how long she was unable to perform the function for which she was engaged for.
For Business continuity of functions in a business there is need for provision for back up. Most of the media houses do not consider this point seriously hence,Matse out office might be the death of the programe. We need to also bear in mind that Business Enterprises are not Church or Mosque nor charitable organisation. They are purely for business with sole aim of making profit. No reasonable company will take advert to a media house where the presenter of a good programe is on sick bed.Emotion will not allow many to read clearly the point here.
However, this is not to say that a company must not be human in dealing with her staff because under secondary objective of Business Enterprise is Staff Satisfaction which is expected of Matse to have considered before she pick up job with the company.
PLS JOB SEEKERS SHOULD TRY AND CONSIDER THEIR POTENTIAL EMPLOYER BEFORE TAKING THAT JOB!

As for the company, postive corporate image will turn to negative if human feeling is not paramount in the company's policy. The company should try to improve on this if they are to continue in business peacefully without friction with the enviroment.

Matse should send mail to : businssclinicng@gmail.com for further advise.
    Best of luck

  18. I pity u Matse. But ur consistent absent may have affected d company badly. But my advice to d company is dis, they should hv employ somebody dat will represent u hence u are sick. The company should hv considered hw long u hv worked with them and ur productivity. If they feel that ur services is no longer needded, they should hv paid u off than going to d press to assassinate ur character. U can sue them for this if u wish. May God open d windows of heaven and pour don his blessings on u. Luv u.

  21. Dear Matse, I personally feel sad and dejected for what happened to you. The manner which your appointment was terminated is barbaric but typical of Nigerian private job employers. It happens every day every where only that yours was widely blown out to the public due to the public figure in you. I empathize with you on your sudden job loss and pray that it would open a better opportunity for you in the nearest future. I also wish you safe delivery.

However, the truth must be said about you, but it's unfortunate that it has to be during this forum. As a public personality you must be a role model to all the people listening to you.

As a presenter you're endowed with the requisite skills and natural tendencies to be one of the best broadcasters in the world but to be honest, you lack attitude and i want you to see this as a learning point. I always say that skills, brilliance and expertise would take you to the top of your carreer and but your attitude would keep you there. If you don't have the right attitude you'll fall.

To butress my points, i've heard you verbally indecently assulting three callers at three different ocassion and i was personally upset with you and Nigerian Info. Having said this it is pertinent to mention that phone calling programmes on radio is a blind market where serious caution must be taken because the caller might even be the Mr President of this country. Besides you must learn to treat people irrespective of their status with caution while talking on air. I wish you the very best in your future endeavor and very safe delivery -Biodun S
