There will be bloodshed in the streets if Jonathan loses in 2015 - Asari-Dokubo

Former militant and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, on Sunday declared that President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential ambition in 2015 was already settled, as his Niger Delta compatriots would not succumb to any force opposed to its full actualization.

There would be blood in the streets if Mr. Jonathan is not reelected president in the 2015 election, the militant leader threatened.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who was a guest on a Channels Television programme, Politics Today, monitored in Abuja, said he would register as a full member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to enable him join in the fight to realize the president’s re-election bid.

“The way things are going, there is no sitting on the fence in the battle before us,” Mr. Asari-Dokubo said. “When some people say they have a right to rule and others don’t have, then there is no sitting on the fence. All of us will have to be in the ring and fight. We cannot leave Goodluck (Jonathan) alone.

“My support for Jonathan will be biased, because charity begins at home. Monkey no fine, but im mama like am. Goodluck, na my person. 2015 is already a settled matter. Goodluck Jonathan would be President in 2015.

“Whether they contest or they don’t. If they say the blood of the dogs and the baboons will be soaked in the streets, or salt water in the streets, we will help them in blood in the streets.”

Insisting there was no crisis in the PDP in the wake of the walkout during the recent National Convention by some aggrieved members, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and seven governors, Mr. Asari-Dokubo said the exit of seven out of 23 governors elected on PDP ticket was not enough to cause any crisis.

On the role of two former Presidents, Ibrahim Babangida and Olusegun Obasanjo, who are working towards an amicable resolution of the crisis, Asari-Dokubo described the duo, who are also members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the PDP, as “agents provocateur”, who are fueling the crisis by declaring that they do not want Jonathan to run in the 2015 elections.

He accused Messrs Babangida and Obasanjo of secretly encouraging the Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido to run for President, with Rivers state governor, Chubuike Amaechi as his deputy, adding that at one recent public function, Mr. Babangida had said that Mr. Amaechi and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, were good to run for higher offices come 2015.

He described the Rivers state governor as “a traitor to the collective aspirations of the people of Rivers State,” saying whatever situation the governor is facing he deserved it, as there was no better way a traitor could be treated by Rivers people.

On the intervention of the National Assembly in the crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, the militant leader criticized the decision to take over the legislative functions of the Assembly, saying the lawmaker lacked the moral high ground to have done so, since they were unable to take a similar action when they were embroiled in corruption charges a few years ago.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who claimed he was a card-carrying member and major financial of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) until December 27, 2010, said he would be joining the PDP to enable him join in fighting for President Jonathan’s candidacy from  the inside.

Ruling out any possibility of running for any office in 2015, he said his focus for now was on getting the Mr. Jonathan’s reelection project delivered.

“I will declare for the PDP. We will fight, because in this battle, there is no retreat, no surrender. We will not take any prisoner of war. It will be total battle,” he said.

  5. Asari-Dokubo only talks like a year old boy who is just learning to speak. He cannot intimidate us with his useless speech. What has GEJ achieved in the last 6 years as president of the country. Bayelsans should get ready to welcome their son back home by 2015

  6. Asari or whatever you call yourself, you are a TOOTHLESS BULL! Empty barrel makes the loudest noise. You are completely irrelevant in Nigerian politics. Why would Channels Tv grant someone like you an interview session? Gush!!! Come 2015, the people will determine who's to lead them. Advise your brother, our dear President, to concentrate on delivering on his electioneering promises and stop your BARKING!

    1. This fat pig fought GEJ last year when the govt did not renew his contract to protect a particular oil pipeline. He was ranting and raving calling Jonathan names. I guess he got it back now and his pocket is full, now he is singing his praises again. Asari is a useless, toothless irrelevant bulldog fighting for his pocket. The fat fool should go back to the creeks where he bolongs and try to loose some weight and continue with his oil bunkering biz. God go purnish all of una. Retard.

  21. Why would the Press medium like ChannelsTV even give such a creature the opportunity to address the good people of this country??

  22. I want to let my voice to the prayer of majority, Asari Dokubo is not in a position to determine what happens politically in 2015, if he wants his brother to contest and win he should go ahead with his strategic but bear in mind that he has no audacity to speak on behalf of vast majority of Nigerians let alone threat blood shed if his brother lose out in the coming election. Happenings in Nigeria has shown clearly that not a single individual can hold us into ransom because of any thing whatsoever. If Asari has forgotten he should go and ask MKO the most influential person in his time. We were told then Nigeria would blow if MKO dies but till today nigeria has not blown. Asari, go back to where u belong and stop making empty threat, Nigeria will remain as one and if any blood will be shed it will be Asari Dokubo's and that of his entire lineage amen. KSF!!!

If you make threaten somebody with violence or issue a ban to someone whether a politician or others not to enter any part of the country, you will be arrested for threatening the peace and safety of the person in the UK or any other civilised country. Why were these so called ex militants not arrested by the police and made to appear before the courts? Or is there no law or rule governing peoples behaviour in Nigeria?

  30. There would be blood in the streets.... which of the streets? South South and South East? Here is a joker who believes that those who have not taken anything from the looting of the nation will jump on the street and start fighting. And I don't know what I will fight for. Is it for Obasanjo, IBB, GEJ or Asari Dokubo who are all well fed by the sweat of all Nigerians? This man is a joker. When the time comes, the fight will start from the door steps of the four of you and your co-travellers.

  31. The truth remains that GEJ has been ordained to complete his tenure. Being minority does not disqualify him as many of u think. Whether Asari says it or not, that same God who picked GEJ 4rm no where and made Presido, will see him thru the second term. I do not think GEJ second tenure is the issue here, that is already settled, the issue should is whether the south will equalize ruling years with the north, because I feel that these nothern elements forget nigeria belongs to all. I am sorry for the southern element who supports the north to continue to cheat us in the name of population. What we have in the north is lazy and unproductive population. The years north held power were more than enough to transform not just the north but the entire nation, rather they were busy stealing money, using money to form heaps for beds, hiding money in water wells, while their youths remained uneducated and no employment. All the woes they created are being blamed on GEJ. Why? hHave you all suddenly forgotten, perhaps your short memories are what they are cashing on. You guys should think. Do not cheat ur perceived weak

  33. We are not surprise Yorubas wont vote for GEJ again, we know it your character, you people felt you have got ur share through the Yoruba man obasanjo and so do not care about others from south. Your usual egocentrism - tribacentrism, tribalism, greed, only-good-for-us nature, so you can do anything to stop others southerners from having the same share we all from the south fought to get. Did you vote GEJ for free, GEJ sacrified those Yoruba state to ACN during alliance with Tinubu, to allow ACN win all those state in return for voting GEJ. Never forget that GEJ had the power to snub him and still win those states and also PDP governorship. This was what Tinubu realised b4 he went for the negotiation with GEJ. GEJ allowed this just to do him favor, but now he has betrayed GEJ by using those states and Governors to fight GEJ. Tell without those states where will Tinubu and fashola have guts to fight GEJ. Rememeber OBJ when he came to power he took back almost all the yoruba to PDP. It was Yar'dua who relinguishes it when court fruad by Justices brided by ACN pronounced wrong judgements to return those states to ACN. We all know how the who thing went.
So my dear do not brag with you Yoruba votes, Obasanjo became president with any yoruba vote, not even from his ward. So close ur Vocal cavity.

  34. Your car tells who u are. U are wht u said. Also, remind GEJ that one of the reasons he will never succeed in 2015 is ASSI strike. We are in DEMOCRACY, i can contest and win if i convince the electorates, stop the noise.

  35. for sure I dont think any reasonable yoruba man will vote for GEJ again except if there is no other credible candidate. Better still we prefere to stay indoor.

  40. I am a supporter to PDP, as well would like Dr. Jonathan to continue as the President of this Country. I am not in support of what this miscrant called Asari Dokubo said. When the time comes, he see those who will cage him. I do not blame Asari Dokubo, because the Federal Government encouraged a militant like him. My question to him is, apart from voodoo, what else can he offer in this Country called Nigeria. I repeat, we are waiting for him and he will be surprised that he is not stronger than late Osama Bin Laden.

  42. well channels takes the blame for bringing a lunatic for interview. Gej should find a way to solve ASUU issue. Credibility is what we need in our next president. Asari, am letting myself down to talk to you but I have to. If u want war, go to syria, gaza, somali or even all the boko haram states in Nigeria and fight. Dnt open the sewage line you call mouth to talk to sane people like Nigerian and any one that knows GEJ should tell him to immediately distance himself from that baboon called Asari. Lastly Buhari, as a statesman of u high repute, My humble thinking is that your ulterance has killed your political career nevertheless, I find it worrisome that you havent apologised till now. Though its late but better late than never. By the grace of the most merciful God we will see 2015 and those that will go home in shame.
