Nigeria will visit Ethiopia in October for the final round of the world cup qualifier. The reigning African champions will face the Walia Eagles in a 2 legged-match up to decide one of the 5 countries that will fly Africa's flag in Brazil.
Nigeria avoided the likes of other heavyweights like Egypt, Cameroun and Senegal who were in pot 2.
However West African neighbours, Ghana got a tough draw with North African power house, Egypt.
Burkina Faso are going to play Algeria.
Tunisia match up against Cameroon, while Ivory Coast will slug it out with the Teranga Lions of Senegal.
So here are the drawn games:
Ivory Coast v Senegal
Ethiopia v Nigeria
Tunisia v Cameroon
Ghana v Egypt
Burkina Faso v Algeria
11-15 October 2013: 1st leg

Super Eagles please be careful. A tricky tie indeed. On paper this is an easy game. But the Ethiopians could be Spoilers. All the same goodluck.
ReplyDeleteThis is when the coach, technical crue, NFF and the entire Super Eagle need to be careful. The Ethopians on papper may look like the under-dogs but could spring up a suprise. However, I trust in the ability of the Super Eagle. Goodluck Naija!
ReplyDeleteKeshi has always succeeded in qualifying teams for worldcup, so Nigeria should be no exception. Goodluck Eagles.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good that we where drawn with the Ethiopians but the Super Eagles should not be so free to the Ethiopians because they might be dangerous DON'T LOOK THEM SO COMMON
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... Goodluck dear eagles.
ReplyDeleteNice DRAW. BRAZIL 2014 HERE WE COME!
ReplyDeleteGoodluck super eagles
ReplyDeleteTo be fare, Nigeria has the most easiest tie and Ghana vs Egypt the most difficult. We have no excuse not to beat them home and away lets be truthful
ReplyDeleteNot much of a tough draw. But at the nations cup, the match was very tough. Ethiopia lost 3 points and 3 goals in the qualifiers for fielding a suspended player an still finished top of the group 2 points ahead of South Africa! The Super Eagles must be prepared for the most consistent underdog team in Africa right now.But I expect we will finish the job in the 2nd leg in Nigeria.
ReplyDeletedo not underrate the whai antelope,i wish sucess.
ReplyDeleteEthiopians can play a frustrating game especially when playing against big teams like Super Eagles, they can run tirelessly for 90 minutes, give you eleven man defense at the rear, and utilize every opportunity to score suprising goal before locking up every available chance of equalizer. Keshi should let the boys know that they should live up to the expectations of the football loving Nigerians and never throw away goal scoring chances, they should target the post before shooting and never give them the opportunity of having a free ball. Gudluck Naija.
