Two arraigned over unsettled N330,000 birthday bash bill

Two men, who allegedly defrauded an eatery of N330,000 under the pretext of celebrating a birthday, were, yesterday charged before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, Tayo Bamidele, 43, and Bankole Abdulramon, 25, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and breach of the peace.
Bamidele, a driver, lives at 15, Apata St., Somolu, while Abdulramon, an ex-student of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, resides at 68, Muyiwa Close, Oke-Ira, Ogba in Ikeja.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Raphael Donny, told the court that the duo committed the offences on July 20 at Slicks Bar and Kitchen, Victoria Garden City, Ajah on Lagos-Epe Expressway.
“They accused conspired with others still at large to defraud Slicks Bar and Kitchen of N330,000 on July 20 under the pretext of marking Abdulrahmon’s birthday.
“Abdulrahmon asked his friends (unspecified number) to order for food and drinks and after the birthday party, he failed to settle the bill. The accused were arrested and handed over to the police,” he said.
Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr O.O. Fowowe, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties each in like sum. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
