PDP crisis: Don’t defect, Bode George tells aggrieved governors

FORMER Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George has appealed to aggrieved governors and members in the party not to leave the PDP.

Addressing a press conference yesterday in Lagos, Chief George said whatever grievances the governors or other party members have can be resolved through dialogue.

While he described the governors as landlords in the party, he said it is not in their interest to leave the party to become tenants elsewhere no matter the situation.

There have been speculation that some PDP governors are set to leave the party over disagreement with the leadership of the party and the rumoured second term ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan, which has created a gulf among governors elected on the party’s platform.

George, who said another four years for Jonathan will not harm anybody, however said another four years is very small in the life of a nation.

He said the party had faced a similar challenge in the past on whether former President Olusegun Obasanjo should run for a second term or not.

Stressing the need for all members of the party with misgivings over President Jonathan’s second term to dialogue with the PDP, the party leader said the party believes that all the six zones in the country should take their turns to govern the country.

He said “Our governors must not go anywhere. This is the party that brought them to limelight. You don’t bite the finger that feed you. If you have any problem, let us sit in the caucus and talk. How can you run away from your house because there is problem. My advice is that we should sit down and talk. What is four years in the life of country. “

  1. Sir, incase you don't know, four years is too long a time in the life of a nation 'cos a nation can be made or marred within a period of four years! The four years of Jonathan has not ended and see what the nation is already facing!

  3. Knowing full well that he ex-convict has no place to run or defect to for fear, that no one will want to keep in his house a former armed robber like him. If I were Bode George, I will simply hide my face, because he is causing more harm to his children children. He can not redeem his image again. In other clime, no body will even publish his comment on National issues. Please let's leave the Baba to die just like that. Why did he called OBJ Elenwo. That is his biggest mistake. A former military (navy)governor of the defunct Ondo state. What an irony. I sorry for you. Whether you like it or not the stain has become permanent.

  4. Whether you Bode George (aka ex-convict)like it or not, the damage has been done. No stain removal can clean off the stain tag on you.
Even after death. That is the only way to discourage our youth of today and tomorrow. But wait why did you called OBJ Elenwon in the first place. Do you see the damage yo do to your self and that of your generation ? It's a shame.
