Lagos ‘deports’ fresh 46 destitute to Osun

*Gov Fashola
Osun State Government, yesterday, said it received 46 additional destitute including two children evacuated from Lagos State.

Receiving the destitute at the National Youth Development Centre, Ode-Omu, yesterday, the Special Adviser to Governor Rauf Aregbesola on Youths, Sports and Special Needs, Hon. Biyi Odunlade said that the state government has no option than to take care of its citizens in any part of the country.

According to him out of the 46 destitute evacuated from Lagos, only 26 were genuine indigenes of the state after their screening.

Odunlade disclosed that about 150 destitute have been repatraited to the state from Lagos, Oyo and other places since the current administration came on board.

His words; “We were invited by Lagos State to pick our brothers and sisters who were destitute and 46 persons were brought, out of which we discovered that just 26 of them are actually indigenes of the state, comprising of 19 males and five females with two children who are from different local governments in the state.

“It is our responsibility to take the matter up because Governor Aregbesola believes in quick and responsible action, and that is why the state government insisted that any time Lagos invited us for their evacuation, we respond on good time.

  2. I am awaiting reactions from fellow Igbo brothers?

Before now, Fashola dislikes Igbos, but good to note that he has extended his disliking attitude towards Yorubas.

The next extension could be to America or China.

Fashola is working, Lagos is changing.

  3. Fashola you are suppose to be an educated man who takes informed decisions. I hope you are not wasting tax payer’s money for this exercise? Is there any device on these ppl that will alert you that they are getting closer or entering Lagos again? Don’t just start implementing something you saw in Europe cos our situations and circumstances differ. For God’s sake do you have a border that will screen these ppl if they decide to take the next available bus to Lagos? And pls if it costs 2,500 to get to Osun state I hope your enforcers will not come and tell Lagosians that they deported these 46 ppl with N10.5m? In fact we want a breakdown of all expenses incurred in deporting these ppl, and from whose pocket was the funds collected.

  5. Yemolola, how is this a function of Lagos state working? I am sure that before the Bus or what ever dropped those ppl off gets back to Lagos some of the deported would have reached Lagos again. this is just a display of mediocrity. No order check, no alert device on these ppl, and you think these ppl will not be back tomorrow if Lagos is their only hope? Pls Fashola should re-direct his energy.

  6. Yorubas deporting Yorubas? Story

Lies. Yes, it happened, but probably b/cos of the Igbo-deportation uproar.
Lies. Shame. Using your own ethnic group to mask your tribal xenophobia.

Smart move? I think not Fashola. Play again 'cause you've lost this round.
