"I Caught My Wife In Bed With One Of The Church Members" - Pastor Says As He Demands Divorce After 28 Years Of Marriage

A 58 year old prophet identified as Elijah Johnson, has explained to an Alagbado Grade A Customary Court, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, how he allegedly caught his 47-year old Prophetess wife committing adultery with some of his male church members on different occasions.

The divorce seeking prophet and founder of Holy Timothy Church, Aboru, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, said his wife, Taiwo Johnson, is very hostile and always insulting the church members.

The couple lived together for 28 years and have seven children.

The petitioner said that they started living together in 1987 and he did not pay any dowry on her.
He said that when he married a second wife, Taiwo was always fighting her.

He complained that his wife does not care about him and even finds it difficult to cook for him, especially whenever he just returns from his missionary travels.

He stated further that he does not love her anymore and wants the court to grant him a divorce.
The respondent said that all his claims of hostility are false and it is not in her character to fight people.
Taiwo said that she loves her husband and that he means everything to her.

She stated that for the 28 years that they have been together, no other man has seen her “nakedness”.
She said does not want the court to dissolve her marriage and wants them to plead with her husband to consider the number of years that they have been together.

She wants her husband to consider their children and not dissolve the marriage.

The court President, Mr. M.O. Jolaoso, after listening to both parties, adjourned the suit till 19 August,  2013 and urged them to maintain absolute peace.

  6. CAN needs to step in to denounce this man for his brand of Christianity where you can raise seven children from a woman without dowry payment, marry multiple wives and ask to divorce the first to evade responsibility. The court should jail him for this 419 attitude of desecrating a religion he claims to represent. - AJ

  8. Divorce on ground of adultery is allowed matt. 19:9. but that does not mean you cannot forgive your partner. But for the man not to have paid her bride price is something detestable. If before he became a Christian it was so, he should have gone to do the right thing since he has come to know God. And with a second wife, he should go and read 1tim 3:2, Titus.1:6. Really and truly, this man is not serious at all.

  10. Yes, the Pastor should even know that as long as he didn't pay her dowry, two of them are living in fornication for the past 28years, and should let peace reign in that
Family by going to her parents for her dowry payment, and not to court for a divorce.

This should be a lesson to others who jumps ontop ladies in name of marriage without bride price;then as now what is he preaching in church.

Whatsoever the woman did is just because the Pastor doesn't want to marry her as a wife;but that should not be a criteria for her to go into adultery-church pray for their marriage to be healed, and restored because they have children.

The Pastor turned the bible upside down ,because the bible said is only adultery/fornication should make a man to divorce his wife;but he didn't see where the bible said a man shouldn't touch a woman without dowry,so therefore Pastor take your wife and children and stop talking divorce yaa!

  11. Please stop calling this man a Pastor. He is definitely self acclaimed. I doubt if he has any affiliation with CAN.
All his actions are contrary to scriptures: Improper marriage, second wife etc.
Pls christians should confirm every so called 'pastor' by cross examining their life style as against †Ð½Ñ” bible before following. For Jesus warned that a time as this will come when their shall be many false prophets and teachers etc.

  12. If he had not talked about having a second wife,we may be talking about the alledged adultery of his wife. It is obvious he has found a new love and want to do away with d old cargo. He certainly never loved his wife, that's the only plausible explanation for not paying the bride price of his wife after 28yrs of marriage & 7 children. Pls do us a favour, address this man anyway u want but pls don't call him a pastor. Christianity has been seriously infiltrated by the devil. It has become a money spinner for so many & nobody is doing anything about it,not even CAN. Too bad!
