General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye shocked members when he declared that the church forthcoming 61st annual convention is not meant for unserious minds or jokers but for persons who are ready for divine transformation.
Speaking at two separate occasions—the monthly Holy Ghost Service and at the Church national headquarters at Ebute-Metta, Lagos—the soft spoken man of God revealed that the forthcoming convention is only for those who are hungry for divine transformation.
Adeboye also urged members to inform their loved ones who are not serious minded to stay away from the Redemption Camp during the convention.
The man of God used the two occasions to urge serious-minded Nigerians seeking solutions to their problems to make adequate arrangements to attend all the programmes, explaining that the theme of the convention is “Jesus”.
According to the General Overseer, “this year’s convention is going to be very peculiar and the reason is that not everybody is invited and I am sure that this will surprise you.
Continuing, Daddy Adeboye said the programme beginning on Monday, August 5, at the Redemption Camp is being packaged for those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, those who are desperate to know God and be like Jesus Christ.
“If you don’t satisfy these conditions please do not come,” he stated, adding “there will not be enough space for everybody; if you are not coming for serious business with God please stay at home, because from day number one it is going to be heavy stuff.
“There is not going to be any lecture that is child’s play everything that is going to happen during this year’s convention is going to be heavy stuff. We are not talking about Father Christmas but about Jesus Christ who is the unchangeable changer, the one who is the same yesterday, today and forever.
“We do not want to talk about modern Jesus but the old time Jesus, if you are not ready for old time religion, please don’t come, you have been warned,” he warned.
Reassuring participants of a wonderful time in God’s presence, Adeboye stated that the event is only meant for bone cracking Christians who are ready to suck marrow out of bones.
“If the Lord tarries, the people who will attend will say this is the greatest convention we have ever had. There are three types of Christians; baby Christians who drink milk, adult Christians who eat meat and those who are called bone crackers who crack bones to get the marrows.
“I repeat myself one more time, this year’s convention is not for jokers, if you are not serious; if you are not coming for God to transform you inside out, please don’t bother to come.
Reacting, Mr. Akinwale Oluwayomide of RCCG, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Meta said: “Thank God that God used Daddy to prepare us for the convention so that we can be partakers of the God’s blessing during the convention”.
Mrs. Iyanu Tolulope said: “I am not that disturbed with what Daddy G.O said because there is a similar situation in the Bible when God instructed Joshua to warn Israelites to sanctify themselves for God to wroth wonders in their midst”.
