Renowned Security expert and president of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria, AISSON, Dr. Ona Ekhomu yesterday, blamed weekend's killing of students including a teacher in a boarding school in Yobe State by terrorists, on lack of threat assessment by security operatives.
Reacting to the tragic incident in Lagos, Ekhomu argued that the massacre would have been preventable had security and local officials conducted assessments of school security threats, following an earlier threat by terrorists to attack government schools.
He noted that "Boko Haram had in the past murdered students in their sleep as was the case of the Mubi massacre. Within the past three weeks, the proscribed Boko Haram terrorist group had concentrated attacks on secondary schools"
