Municipal officials in the luxurious city of Dubai are offering residents a gram of gold which is worth $45 for every kilogram of weight lost in 30 days. The minimum weight to be shed is two kilograms before you can be paid in gold. There is no limit on the amount of weight that can be lost. There are growing concerns of obesity in Dubai which is one of the wealthiest cities in the world.
"The plan is the latest attempt to encourage healthier lifestyles in the United Arab Emirates. Across the Gulf Arab states, authorities have raised alarms about rising obesity from increasing fast-food diets and lack of exercise."
