A bride refused to show up at her
wedding at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Okesa, Ado-Ekiti, on
Saturday resulting in the cancellation of the wedding.
Our correspondent learnt that the groom,
who is from Ifaki-Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of the state,
was already in the church but waited in vain for the arrival of his
bride.
Her whereabouts were unknown hours after the service had started.
The failure of the bride to show up, it
was gathered, forced the clerics to cancel the wedding and invited
guests reportedly left one after the other, when it dawned on them that
the ceremony would no longer hold.
The Dean of the Cathedral, Very
Reverend, F.O Bankole, when contacted on the telephone confirmed the
incident to our correspondent.
He said, “It is true that a wedding which was planned to hold in the church today was cancelled. The bride did not show up.”
Bankole said he did not know why the
bride failed to showed up, but added that the couple had been “having
some issues since they started courting.”

It is safe for the bride to have refused to show up for the wedding since issues has started cropping up from the on set.Ekitis are too temperamental,no wonder they are highly backward.
ReplyDeleteTo d ist anonymous:Why will u because of a failed marriage abuse a whole State and do u evn knw whr d 2b couple hailed from?watch ur tongue!
DeleteThat is pure weakedness on the side of the bride. What stops her from opening up to him than this public disgrace. Now what is her profit? leaving a man at the alter do u think is wise? Mind u, the devil u know is better than the angel u don't know.u will leave to regret this action. Girl wake up.
ReplyDeletea broken relationship is always better than a broken marriage. i would say kuddos to her for do not what she thought was right for the society but doing what was right for her
ReplyDeleteWas she forced to agree to the wedding arrangements? She disgraced herself and not just the man!
DeleteA very bold lady and a realist too. I have seen lot of ladies regret not quitting. Not just new brides oh. Hence some of them start sleeping around, visiting pastors and or even dibia. Marriage takes its toil on newly weds especially d ladies. The new husbands sit on high horses instead of cushoning d effects. Someone, please tell newly weds that they need to complement each other. I always tell d guys, u need her to help u build ur home, then u be d head. Before the home is built, u are like someone living in an open field, not knowing whether u will make it. When u want to claim headship, she being d neck can make ur head turn backward and u are neither here nor there. Couples need to be matured before they marry and even in marriage, u must grow in maturity, tolerance and commitment. Let Christ be d head and see marriage as a triangle with God at d apex and man and woman at d base. While courting, go spiritual rather than social.
ReplyDeleteTO 1ST ANONYMOUS @ 11:11 AM... THE FACT THAT YOU DECLARED A WHOLE STATE TEMPERAMENTAL BECAUSE OF A SINGLE WEDDING ISSUE IS A MASSIVE POINTER TO HOW REALLY TEMPERAMENTAL EVEN YOU ARE!!!. A CLASSIC CASE OF KETTLE CALLING POT BLACK INDEED!!! LOL... ODUN TUTU. note: i am not from EKITI STATE.
ReplyDeleteWell we give thanks n glory to our God in everything. Marriage seems not to be what its is anymore. People are just been greedy. Its not all relationship that LL lead to marriage. Stop forcing people to marry you. It wouldn't work. I guess this lady might av said her mind long before this time n perhaps not taking serious.
ReplyDeleteI think the lady shud ve called off the relationship rather than disgraced both families. And to 1st anonymous, STUPIDITY is ur watchword, wat has been temperamental has to do wit failed marriage beside EKITI pple re principled and don't lik pple goin against principles. If EKITI pple re temperamental, wat of OYO pple(IBADAN to be precise). OLOCIOUS&ODECIOUS.
ReplyDeleteThe bride should have called off the wedding!
ReplyDeleteI agree that a broken relationship is better than a broken marriage but one doesn't need to wait until the wedding day to prove that a marriage won't work.
wonders shall never end, she disgrace the church, the guests, both families, herself a and and the groom, what a day!
ReplyDeleteThe man should bury the past and forge ahead. Whatever was the issue, it should have resolved earlier and if it wasn't possible to solve, they would have quit the whole thing than this public show of shame.
To be sincere, I will not like to mary this kind of girl.I assumed, it is a great blessing and good lesson for the man, however, there are other great women out there who will be in accord with you as a good partner and wife, so, do not loose hope for a second. Was the woman coarsed into the relationship?
