VIDEO: State Of Emergency: Civilians Among Dead In Nigeria Offensive-AlJazeera

Warning: Some viewers may find the images disturbing.

Al Jazeera obtains exclusive footage of army's battle against Boko Haram, with women and children shown among the dead.

Al Jazeera has obtained the first images of the Nigerian army's battle against Boko Haram fighters in the northern state of Borno.

The pictures appear to show the bodies of Boko Haram rebels and many civilians, including women and children. One soldier told Al Jazeera he had seen almost 3,000 corpses.

The Nigerian army have been fighting the group since a state of emergency was declared on May 14 in areas where the fighters have been operating.

The Nigerian army has also released 58 women and children suspected of having links to Boko Haram.

Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports exclusively from Maiduguri.

  1. This is a Media propaganda to discredit the Nigeria military campaign against the insurgents. This is happening in colaboration with the socalled Northern Elders. Earlier they claim to have a video they will use as evidence against FGN in world court. What a cheap Blackmail!!! Where are the footage on dead women and children in this ridiculous video? If that imposter is a Nigeria Soldier why can't he get a good coverage Of those innocent victims as claimed or why are We not allowed to hear his voice even a bit? Aljezeera is owned by Arabs we know that they are trying to show solidarity to BH their underground crony that's why they condecend so low to produce such falacious and libelous content.shame on you! We salute the effort of our soldiers kudus.

  6. The ascent of the fake soldier is not a nigerian ascent therfore that soldier is not a Nigerian soldier afterall anybody could dress in militry uniform, back the camera and say rubbish. No dead body of civilian, women and children were shown in the video, this is pure media propaganda to discredit the good work of the Nigerian militry.
    Shame on aljazeera.

  7. If I had any doubt before, this video has definitely erased it. Aljazeera is definitely a terrorist television station. Showing civilians killed in bama by wicked insurgents weeks before the state of emergency in a documentary critizing nigerian army. Haba! They don't even know the difference btw militants and military. What nonsense.!

  8. Aljazeera has always been pro Islam so anyone expecting something different is deceiving him/herself.
I was expecting to see the evidence they have only to behold a BH member clad in camouflage talking rubbish.

  11. Thank GOD for all the wise comment I ve seen here today. When Boko Haram where killing innocent people who have gone to worship there GOD, where was Aljazeera ??? Cheap blackmail of Northern Children Forum (NEF)
That is why we Nigerians must come out in mass to support our president GEJ. We must justify the death of over 5,000 Nigerians by standing against the aim of introducing Boko Allal. (Presidency to d North)

  16. I am so disappointed at Al-Jazeera. I want to believe that that TV station or channel is owned by terrorists or their cronies. I didn't see the dead bodies! Besides, Boko haram members have been dressing in Nigerian Army camouflage, so I want to believe that one BH member is the one granting such an ignoble interview. Aljazeera Haram, you people shouldn't think Nigerians are fools. We don't need you in our country.

  17. Stupid propaganda. It is this same station Osama was using to reach the world. How do you distinguish between civilians and boko haram? Do boko haram have a special uniform. It seems the reporter knows them. That is why he knew that the bh in the area were 30. Witch

  18. Listen, it's better the military kill 120 civilians but wipe away the BOKO haram than to fold our hands as a nation and allow these bloody hungry monsters kill more than 5,000 civilians: the rational is horrible. Does it mean that Aljazerra, wanted us to sponsor BH till they Islamise the nation as they anticipate? Anyway the Aljazerra themselves confirm that they don't have the footage of the purported killed civilians. Therefore it remains a rumor. The self acclaimed soldier in the interview is not a Nigerian but self made Yankee Muslim extremist following his accent. Aljazerra is a Muslim TV. All their report must be pro- Muslim. Therefore lets not expect better deal from them. Bit let them also realize that Nigerians as wiser now that there evil report cannot make any difference to our commitment to wipe away BOKO QUARAM HARAM from our system. QED.

  26. No wonder Late Gen. Abacha sent Al-Jazeera out of Nigeria during his regime. They are just pro-Islam and serious supporters of terrorism along with Press TV their sister. We are tired of your falsehood.
