The Federal Government has declared that it would apply modern technologies that are capable of providing best services applicable to the environmental system in order to monitor effectively the nation’s border communities with a view to curb the menace of insurgency confronting the nation.

“Here we cannot continue doing the same thing and expect a different result. We have to think out and think through new ideas of border patrolling to contribute to National security. We must professionally utilize the mix of vigorous and professional border patrolling and internal immigration control. We will not blindly or brutally remove irregular immigrants but it will be done after a process that is targeted, powered by intelligence, and data.

“We are at the age of appropriating the best technologies to do our job of modern migration. We will rely on cutting edge technologies that are practicable in our environment Nigeria to transform the Nigeria Immigration Service. These technologies must not be substandard but the best and sustainable ones well tailored to the peculiarities of our country in terms of the environment and the challenges of our country.

“We have also the pillar of the service, clean and uncorrupted premised on Nigeria’s interest. These are broad pillars, that countless strategy sessions will be held to fine tune them. I am confident that the zeal, passion, enthusiasm in you will be available to be marshalled to achieve these lofty goals”, Parradang stated.

He further called on the Nigeria Immigration Service to work together with him as a team in providing the best services that will be of interest to Nigeria. Also task the officers to conform to global practices, focused, discipline and incorruptible in the dissemination of their duties.

“I am the team leader, I am willing, I am capable and ready to work with you to achieve all these possible goals. The time to bicker is over. All we have to do is to come together and deliver a Nigeria Immigration service that conforms to global best practices, that is focused, that is discipline, that is incorruptible, that is committed to providing service to Nigeria interest.

“We are very conscious of the role in the security matrix of the nation. We will work with all other security organs to manage and solve Nigerian’s peculiar security challenges”, Parradang said.

  1. Some might suggest it ɪ̣̝̇s not at all feasible to think NIS can tackle the issue of illegal immigrant, but I am convinced Mr. Paradang seems the right person to extricate from the tangle which the country ɪ̣̝̇s with hundreds of illegal immigrant that even contributed to our security challengies.
