State of Emergency: 1500 Nigerian refugees in Cameroun – Envoy

The military operations in Borno state to flush out Boko Haram terrorists from the area has forced about 1,500 refugees into the northern part of Cameroon, Nigeria’s ambassador to Cameroun has said.
Speaking with Journalists who are on the presidential delegation to the summit on Regional Security in Yaounde, Cameroun, the Nigerian Ambassador to Cameroon, Ambassador Hadiza Mustapha said the figure which has been confirmed by the United Nations High commission for Refugees and is no where near the 3000 reported by the media.
The summit of Heads of States and Governments of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC), kicked off today, with a focus on maritime safety and security in the Gulf of Guinea.
