Man docked over alleged American visa fee scam

A business man, Owolere Odunuga, who allegedly obtained N752, 000 under the pretence of procuring an American visa for his client, was Thursday, arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Odunuga, 37, who resides at the Ikorodu area of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretence and stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Cpl. Femi Adeleye, told the court that the accused committed the offence sometime in March at 11, Agos St., Okerube, Lagos.
Adeleye said Odunuga fraudulently obtained the said amount from one Mrs Olayemi Oluwapelumi, under the pretence of procuring an American visa for her.
Adeleye said the accused also stole the said amount from her, adding that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr P. E. Nwaka, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till July 31 for mention.

With good leadership, Nigerians will know that once upon a time, Nigerian used to get British visa from port of entry not to talk of respect America used to accord Nigeria and Nigerians.
Today corrupt leaders destroyed our pride.
But I want fellow Nigerians to know that Allah will help us over the enemies of this great country.
@Anonymous 4.30 I totally agree wit u,our leaders should make policies that will mk travelling abroad less attractive,I can turn around dat sum 2 1.5m in 2-3 weeks legitimately,we need 2 see d good side of our great country.
