Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the National Publicity Secretary of Action Congress of Nigeria, on Friday said 23 governors are already in the fold of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mohammed spoke in Lagos at the 7th Town Hall Meeting of Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, representing Lagos Central.
He said 12 more governors had signified interest to join the party in addition to the 11 already in the fold.
“The 12 governors will make their declarations after the party has been registered, possibly in two weeks time.
“We are likely to get our registration certificate by the end of June or second week of July,” the ACN spokesman said.
He explained that the delay in submitting the new party’s application to INEC was caused by “the complexity of merging.’’
“Merging is not an easy process, it is complicated. Aside from the name, constitution and logo change, each of the merging parties must hold special conventions to adopt the merger.
“The merger forming APC comprises ACN, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Grand Progressive Alliance (APGA) and the Democratic People’s Party (DPP).”
In her speech, Tinubu, who is the wife of a former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, described APC as “an assurance of hope for Nigeria.’’
She said:“Without the genuine change and development being advocated by our great movement — APC, Nigeria risks further descent into the abyss of underdevelopment and backwardness.’’
On the bill seeking special status for Lagos, the senator said no effort would be spared to achieve it.
Tinubu disclosed that the three senators from Lagos had sponsored a bill seeking provision of financial grants to the state in the constitution, in recognition of its status as the nation’s economic hub.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Tinubu distributed free November/December General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to 220 youths in the senatorial district. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

So APC will admit PDP corrupt officials and expect us to think they can be different? This is a joke
ReplyDeleteWhen u gather thieves and armed rubbers together to form a group what else are u expecting is corruption...birds of thesame fedders flew togeder
ReplyDeleteThis is not new. We have been hearing about this all these years but there has been no change. Corruption has eaten deep into Nigerian politicians. Moving from PDP to APC is like putting the old wine into a new bottle and the taste of the wine remains the same. We are not moved. All they want is where they will be and have the chance to continue their corruption. Shame to the Nigerian politicians for their corruption!
ReplyDeleteAPC Should See the people as their target, not PDP.
ReplyDeleteAll this are political propaganda,, do you know what it means for an office holder to carry his Mandate to join you ?? Nigerian Politicians will never do anything without their selfish interest..
Let APC decide on their presidential candidate, then we will know the tone of their music and know how to dance with them. Party that has never seen anything good even in good himself..
Two of the party front liners Are Very Tribalistic in a nation like Nigeria that have over 750 Tribe and Languages.
APC are new criminal party, they dont have anything to offer Nigerian apart from looting our resources , so shut-up and stop deceiving us. The youth of this great country are watching the merger and soon Rawling of Nigeria will emerge to sanitize criminals and lootter of our resources and wealth. Orioda.
ReplyDeleteTo APC,
ReplyDelete- If you try to negotiate with boko haram, you are weak
- If you fight with boko haram, you are wicked.
The party is a group of people who specialize in propaganda hoping to buy people over. Oshiomole should have nothing to do with this party - AJ
The devil u know is better than the angel u don't know. Though we need a change, but certainly not with a group that have looted Lagos, put their wives in position. Abeg PDP is still better they will sort themselves out. Think of the people not PDP
ReplyDeletewhoever wish PDP good is either one of the following or all;
ReplyDelete1 a child
2 a fool
3 corrupt or benefiting from corruption
4 just stupid
5 a devil himself period.
All I know is that most of these commentators are PDP apologists.Let GEJ fix electricity and see whether Nigerians will not vote for him. It's just because they are not performing that is why you see these parties merging.Take it or leave ALL opposition governors are performing and doing wonderfully better than most PDP governors.Do you want to compare Oyinlola, Gbenga Daniel, Akala, Oni and Osunbor with all these performing opposition governors? 'Wole
ReplyDeletePDP is still better, APC leadership is a bunch Islamists who take pleasure in boko killings and support them openly. APC will spell doom to peace and unity of this nation. None of these so called leaders of APC has openly condemned boko haram and its affiliates, and likes. Will they rule those they join to kill, or will they rule ghosts. On APGA, no sensible member of APGA will join APGA, unless those we know have been sponsored as governor n crooks to betray their people. This has always been their part in political season. They r always paid or sponsored by enemies of east to create confusion. APGA was there before they the "TARES" were sown. God will sure s/east of these vultures
