Two Students Of Olabisi Onabanjo University Killed As Police Shoot To Halt Protest




Two student of Olabisi Onabanjo University have been reportedly shot dead with several other wounded. 

Following the ongoing protest about the new introduced policies.

The armed police men came in the numbers as directed by the vice chancellor Prof. Saburi and Gov. Of Ogun state Sen. Ibikunle Amosun and started shooting sporadically at the student whom were conducting their protest peacefully.
Several students, including the university’s student union president have been arrested and taken to Ijebu-Igbo.

A source in the institution said the premises have turned riotous with students and staff of the institution dashing into nearby bushes for safety.

A student union executive who spoke to NigerianEYE on the phone he was hiding in a bush. Eyewitness accounts say the police arrived at the entrance of the campus in armored tanks and began shooting sporadically into the air. It is not yet clear whether the two students killed were deliberately aimed at or killed by stray bullets.

NE gathered that the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, ordered the policemen to the campus upon learning that they had started a protest against some harsh policies of the school management.
So far two students have been shot with several others stranded in the bush of Ago Iwoye.
