The way and manner which lives are being wasted in Nigeria ever since the the present administration assumed office, is now a matter of very big concern to Nigerians.
As the citizens were still talking about the lives lost each time the Boko haram sect strikes, another baffling incident, which claimed many lives happened recently in Baga in Lafia. Theses are some reactions from the experts as to the way forward.
The so called opposition are the cause of insecurity in Nigeria— Bamidele Aturu
The country is making a frightening and fast descent into a state of lawlessness.
Barrister Bamidele Aturu |
This government cannot guarantee the defense of Nigerians. And why this is so is because, the members of the political elite generally, including the so called opposition, are the cause of the current security problems in Nigeria.
What I mean by saying that they are the cause of security problems in Nigeria is that, it is their acts of corruption, reckless conspicuous consumption and greed that have created huge unemployment, massive poverty and general atmosphere of criminality.
Until and unless we create an equitable country, where all the able bodied youths are employed, where the wealth of Nigeria is distributed equitably, where people have decent houses to live in, where people can eat decent meals, where all Nigerians have access to good health care, we would not stop having these security problems and these killings would not stop.
So, it is a political problem and it can only be solved politically. So, that is why Nigerians must sit up for the challenges ahead. We must not allow these politicians to take us for a ride. It is a collective fight.

As we can see, the level of insecurity in the country is so high now. What happened in Baga in Lafia, can still happen freely in any part of this country because of the insecurity level in the country and the level of organised violence of the rich and wealthy.
The government should ensure that anybody involved in organised violence irrespective of the personality, should be dealt with.
You find that in the second republic, we did not have organised violence as much. But in this generation, we have many organised violence groups because, they are all sponsored by the rich and wealthy who the government can not deal with.
Oluyemisi Wada |
There is so much unrest in the country. People are suffering, many are unemployed and riches are the hands of few Nigerians. In this case, a revolution is inevitable and it has started.
From the Aluu 4 to the kidnapings all around, these are all forms of frustrations. The President needs to leave politics right now and face his people and do something.
He needs to be seen doing something about the corruption and the break down of law and order in the country and not basically, talking about politics when the lives and security of his people are not guaranteed.
