President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday cut short his ongoing foreign trip to attend to the various security challenges in the country with the latest being the killing of more than 20 policemen in Nassarawa State on Tuesday.
Jonathan, who was expected to proceed from South Africa where he attended the World Economic Forum on Africa to Namibia today for a state visit, had called off the Namibia trip.
Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, in his Twitter handle said the President who was initially expected back on Friday was already on his way back to Nigeria.
“Due to security situation at home, President Jonathan cuts short his trip to South Africa. Visit to Namibia also aborted. On his way back home,” Jonathan twitted. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
