Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Tuesday returned to the country after a 10-day medical trip to United Kingdom.
Briefing journalists, Okorocha said he was healthy and sound, noting that the medical examination conducted by his doctor abroad certified him fit to resume work.
“I am back and am healthy and I’m grateful to God Almighty,” he said.
The Imo State governor recalled his involvement in an auto crash while on project inspection on Owerri-Orlu road, which left him with a minor injury in the forehead.
He added that the injury was earlier treated in a hospital at Orlu, but considering the fact that the cut was in the forehead, needed a thorough re-examination in a specialist hospital.
Okorocha said he had forgiven the man whose car ran into the convoy, stating that he would not be tried in a law court.
He announced a gift of N200,000 to repair the man’s Mercedes 200 that was damaged by the accident.
He, however, urged road users to drive carefully and avoid driving when drunk, saying, “What happened to him could happen to any other person.”
