Delta Police demolish kidnappers’ dens

DELTA State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, said the command had so far demolished five buildings used by kidnappers as their operational bases and cells where their victims were kept in unlawful custody while demanding ransom.
He also announced that 139 suspected robbers/kidnappers were arrested and 29 of such suspects killed during gun battles, while 331 ammunition were recovered between January and April this year.
The commissioner of Police who stated this while briefing newsmen in Asaba, yesterday, also paraded an army corporal attached to 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze at the state police command, Asaba for alleged gun-running, among several suspects in their net.
According to him, “in furtherance of its avowed intention to take the battle to the dens of kidnappers, Delta State police command with the full backing of the state government has commenced demolitions of identified operational bases and cells of kidnappers.”
