Delta community alleges invasion, arrests by JTF

The people of Egbema, in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, have accused the Joint Task Force, JTF, of invading their communities and arresting prominent individuals for protesting alleged years of political marginalisation, economical and environmental despoliation by the Delta State Government and Chevron Nigeria Limited, operating in the area.
According to the community, those arrested are Chief Solomon Ogomogo, Mr Benedict Miebi, a Councillor in the Warri North council, Mr. Kenneth Odibo, Special Adviser to Mr. Godwin Ebosa, former Chairman of Warri North council , Mr. Kalawei Wowei, Mr. Peter Ogomogo, among other indigenes.
A statement by Mr. P.E. Fetimi, Mr. Shedrack Igina, President and Vice-President respectively of Egbema for Positive Change, said: “At 1 am Sunday, the JTF in Delta State invaded Egbema communities in Warri North and arrested our people mentioned above.
