Amaechi is a traitor — Dokubo-Asari

AHEAD of the 2015 general elections, the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has described the Rivers State Governor as a “traitor.”

Dokubo-Asari, in a phone-in radio programme in Port Harcourt on Saturday, said Amaechi’s political ambition did not tally with the ambition of the people of the state.

The NDPVF leader explained that the NGF chairman would be “treated like a traitor” for allegedly confronting President Goodluck Jonathan on some government policies and the 2015 elections.

He said, “Amaechi and his commissioners can go back to slavery and continue to serve the northerners, who claim to be born to rule. We will never go back to slavery. We know the quality of those who are commissioners in Rivers State.

“Amaechi and his ambition must be tied to the ambition of his people. In Kano, Amaechi said he would run as vice-president, if invited. I speak with all sense of responsibility. The oppressed people of the Niger Delta, through President Jonathan, will win in 2015. We will win clearly and convincingly.

“Amaechi is a traitor and he will be treated like a traitor. Amaechi is not more Ikwerre than me. It is about liberty to rule. Amaechi wants to take us back to slavery. It will not be possible. The era of northern godfathers is gone.
“President Goodluck Jonathan will win in 2015. If they do not allow him to win, they will not be able to handle the consequences. An end must come to the suppression, oppression, repression and marginalisation of the people of the Niger Delta.

“The South-South and South-East people have been brushed aside for too long. People of the North said they would make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan, if he won in 2011, which they are doing.”

In his reaction, the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Emmanuel Chinda, said contrary to Dokubo-Asari’s claim, Amaechi was not a traitor.

Chinda, who reacted through the phone-in radio programme, expressed dissatisfaction over Dokubo-Asari’s position on issues concerning the governor and the state.

He accused Dokubo-Asari and a few others of creating problems between President Goodluck Jonathan and the state governor for their selfish interests, adding that the people of the state were behind Amaechi.

  1. I kept wondering why a thug like Asari should be given a place in the media! There's no any meaningful impact he's making to the country. I see him as nothing but a tout. He should be completely ignored. Our dear President should do well by keeping a reasonable distance from people like Asari. God bless Jonathan, God bless Nigeria!

  2. I can't believe a tout, hoodlum, murderer,ex convict, assassin like Asari Dokubo will open his mouth to speak trash and judge others. Who is he to judge others? Has he removed the small log from his own eyes. Why do the media give him so much attention. A man who killed so many innocent victims all in the name what? Is it a way to win the heart of Jonathan? I don't get it Asari you should be doing penance... That's what you need.

  4. Human are unsatisfy with Power ones tested and are ready to do everything to remain there even to betray his kinsmen or kill all his people to be in corridor of Power. My Advice goes to all who are power drunk/greed and ready to sell our birth right just like Esua in the Holy Bible to remain in power to have a re- think what will profit u at the end of these betrayal. To all elit and good people of Niger delta, just like Asari have said we have remain like slaves to the Northerners for so long and we are saying Enough is Enough cos postarity will not forgive us if our generation yet unborn comes to pass through this when we had the opportunity to put an end to this slavery- When a person speaks listen to him b/cos there is sense and great meaning to the statment.

  5. I know this gambling by the 36 states Governors will not work, let me advise Rotimi Ameachi, An enemy to a head of a family can never like or do anything good to the son of his enemy. When U state war in the house where will u run to when the outsider pursue u. When U dance watch it might be ur back is open and people are seeing u differently- tip in iceberg

  6. I am afraid the President can't ignore him because they are together.

Its a shame that in a country like Nigeria with many many intelligent and well educated people the media see it fit to give this stupid illiterate so much space. He does not even understand the meaning of the word Democracy. He thinks the election of a Nigerian President is only for the people of Delta and River States. There are over 160 million people in the country of which the Delta people are a very tiny proportion (Less than 10 million).

The whole of Nigeria will decide by ballot who they want to rule them in 2015. Jonathan is not even certain to run as the decision rests with his Party. Even if he runs he could be beaten by other Party's candidate. I hope the thug called Asari takes this Democratic lesson on board and shut up.

  7. Asari lacks cohesiveness in his pronouncements and seem not to understand the tenets of democracy and individual's rights to chose or do what he wants to do. Just as he has all the rights to do or be saying what he is saying, he cannot expect someone not to do or chose his political intentions. If Amaechi, or Asari himself for that matter, wants to contest for any post in the country, you are all free to do so and let the people chose. Making threats on the radio, TV and print media amounts to more a thuggery display than a gentlemanly approach to national issues. I think the media should try to give less attention to all these mouthy guys, who talk from all sides of their mouths.

  9. I think GEJ need this man as Buhari need and use Boko Haram in the North. Buhari and his Boko Haram Agent should now that GEJ has his own bull dog that call bully them back and make Country Ungovernable if he was not return as Nigeria president in 2015. Boko haram has stained the Govt of GEJ, so any Northern President must be ready for their cup of tea. With political calculation and permutation in Nigeria. Some of Asari Tokunbo is necessary.
