The Golden Eaglets could not get revenge over the Cote Ivoire team losing by penalties in the final
After 90 minutes of an evenly matched final between the U-17 teams of Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire, the young Elephants won the tournament 1-1 (5-4) after penalties.Nigeria scored first in the first half through Omega in the eighth minute but the young Elephants equalized in the 26t minute through Bedia as there was a break-down in communication between the defenders and the goalkeeper.
The Golden Eaglets were reduced to 10 men in the 86t minute when the goal scorer, Omega was sent off for a raised elbow.
