Gideon Saleh, 22, looked harmless and nothing in him gave him away as a suspected thief.
But, the lanky school dropout lost three teeth on Wednesday after residents of Jikwoyi, an Abuja suburb, accused him of stealing aluminium panels.
Saleh, who is a scavenger, picks disused items, including iron and aluminium materials from refuse heaps in the area.
He, however, made a detour to a house in Phase III area of the suburb on Wednesday under the guise of plying his trade when occupants of the building started shouting “thief”, thief”, thief.”
