Mr. Adeboye said the jet is necessary for God’s work. Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has justified his purchase of a private jet saying it is necessary for his work.
Mr. Adeboye, one of the most respected Christian leaders in Nigeria and the head of the Redeemed Church that has millions of members across 160 countries, stated this in an interview with global news channel, Aljazeera.
The pastor said “there are things you need,” to perform the task he does as the general overseer. “When you have to oversee churches in 160 countries, you can’t do that on a bicycle,” he said in response to a specific question on whether he needed to have acquired a private jet.
Though considered unique in his simple appearance and un-flamboyant lifestyle, Mr. Adeboye is one of the increasing numbers of Pentecostal pastors that have acquired private jets, leading to condemnations by some Nigerians.

You cannot dictate what a man should do with his money when he is not hurting you. The private jet Jesus bought in His time was tear rubber. No man had ever ridden on it. Not even the people who delivered it. Do you remember that Jesus was criticised when His lifestyle was compared with that of John the baptist?
DeleteYou should throw your mobile phone away because Jesus did not use a mobile phone. If you have a computer, throw it away as well. In fact, if you want to preach the Gospel, you should not take a taxi or bus because Jesus did not ride in any of those worldly things. And, make sure you do not drink cold water from a refrigerator because Jesus did not enjoy such luxury in His time.

DeleteFor a man that has to oversee his branches in more than 160 countries ,having a plane is no big deal especially if the large membership can afford it,but it becomes frivolous when one begins to acquire 2 or 3 customised jets for no other reason than pleasure.Such becomes unreasonable and unGodly.

When christianity is turned into business minded religion or the jostle for who will be the richest pastor; then the salt has lost its taste. What is the impact of his Pa Adeboye's teachings? Are the members really people worthy of emulation? Is the society changing for the better with increasing churches? CHRISTIANITY HAVE BEEN RUINED AND RUBISHED because we lack the knowledge.

so with the jet will he attend service in all the countries where he has branches every Sunday? or is he going to fix speakers on the wings of the jet and be preaching with the jet flying low?( make una use una head) even with private jets there are delays. or are there no pastors in those branches? and pls if u know the amount of money spent maintaining these jet I know many of the above supporters of this waste and display of wealth that the bible condemns will have a re-think. Did you read in the bible that Jesus rode on a virgin ass to Jerusalem? Did you read in the bible that Jesus wore a special dress? Alas, the effect of the jet travels is already telling on them personally. Most of them cannot really minister effectively as before even though they hide behind the excuse of old age. If only they had actually taken time to seek counsel from the Holy Spirit before embarking on the open declarations on their need for the jet which of course those eager to sow without also asking their God will quickly pump their resources into buffeting the flesh of the Man of God.
Also no one asked them how the Lord Jesus Christ actually tackled this challenge of being able to reach many at the same time. All the Lord Jesus Christ simply did was appoint faithful 70s and commissioned them and they went about doing what the Lord Jesus Christ wanted achieved.
Great lesson here is that for you to avoid undue controversies, distractions and contradictions, you need the testimony about the approval of the one who called you to work for Him regarding every challenge you face in the course of doing the work.
What the Holy Spirit wants them to do is follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ by praying for Faithful Men who they will then commission and transfer anointing/gifts into to assist them in going about and doing the work. This to me would have been much more effective and fulfilling than their current approach.
Alas, there is a way the seems right to a man, the end of it is so much hassles and controversies.
May the Holy Spirit continue to help us learn to work better and more effectively under His leadership. Amen.
