Two young men, Mohammed Sule and Lawani Idris, where on Monday sentenced to three months imprisonment for stealing and robbing a staff of Access Bank Plc, Vivian Ufori, of her belongings valued at N160,000.
Sule 35 and Idris, 28, who were arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court, are facing a two count charge, of conspiracy and stealing, proffered against them by the police, before Magistrate Mrs Dan Oni.
The two defendants where said to have committed the said crime yesterday April 8, 2013, at about 5:30am at Fadeyi street in Ikeja area of Lagos.
The police prosecutor inspector Edet Okoi, told the court that the alleged offence was committed in the early hours of the morning at Fadayi street in Ikeja area of Lagos at about 5.30am.
He claimed that the defendants stole the following properties a hang bag, containing one Access bank Identification card ID, Access Bank Automated Teller Machine card ATM, a pair of shoe, a Bible , house and office keys and some cash valued at N160,000, properties of one Vivian Ofori,
Okoi, claimed that the defendants are fund of always robbing people of their valuables
According to Okoi, the offence committed is punishable under section 409,285 (1) of the criminal laws No 11 Vol 44 laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.
Earlier when the charges proffered against the defendants was read to them, they both pleaded guilty to the two count charge.

That was fast. You Judges and Magistrates are always quick to deliver judgment on the poor and weak but complacent when it involves those in power or those who have stolen big. Have you privileged charge and bail lawyers that parade yourselves as learned colleagues and SAN seen how partial and stupid our judiciary has become? If you are a lawyer pls solve this math: If two criminals get 3 months imprisonment for stealing properties worth N160,000 how long should criminals like James Ibori, Alamieyeseigha, Farouk & Otedola, Yusuf, Bode George, Tafa, Akingbola etc. serve in prison? These are ppl who went through our law courts and found innocent. Magistrate, Judge and SAN my foot.
