Soldiers, Police Ran Away When Boko Haram Attacked Ganye, Emir Tells Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari commiserated with the traditional ruler and residents of Ganye Former Head of State, retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the people of Ganye in Adamawa State over the recent attack by gunmen.

He expressed the condolence during his visit to the Gangwari of Ganye, Umaru Sanda, at the latter’s palace on Thursday. Mr. Buhari, who was represented by the Adamawa State Chairman of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Mohammed Waziri, sympathised with the people over the loss of lives and property.

“On behalf of our presidential candidate, the CPC National Headquarters, state governorship candidate, Buba Marwa, and the entire CPC family, we wish to register our sympathy with you and the entire people of your chiefdom over the unfortunate incident of loss of lives and property that occurred in the area,’’ the party chairman said. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and quick recovery of the lost property.

“We pray to the Almighty to expose the perpetrators and continue to protect the country from these ungodly acts,’’ he said. Soldiers ran away Responding Mr. Sanda thanked Mr. Buhari and other party officials for identifying with them at their hour of need.

“What really happened in Ganye Town is sad and pitiful, the teams of soldiers and police that were supposed to protect our lives and property all abandoned us and ran away during the attack.

“We are just waiting for our death on that day because nobody protected us,’’ the traditional ruler said. He called on the people to pray for divine intervention so that the country would witness permanent peace and stability.

  5. The more i read NE, the more i see your pathetic admiration and partisan support for Buhari. Look at what NE allowed to be posted for readers to read. What is the news in that article? The Northern elders still do not want the Violence to stop, because they do not know that Boko Haran will turn to them when no christian is ready to joke with his security! Watch out.
