No fewer than seven persons have been confirmed dead in a fatal motor accident along Ile-Ife-Akure expressway. The accident which occurred on Friday night at Erinmo Ijesha along the Ile-Ife-Akure expressway claimed the lives of passengers in five different vehicles coming from Akure.
The vehicles which were involved in the accident include a Mazda 626 car, a Toyota Sienna car, two buses and a tanker.
It was gathered that the vehicles collided with a tanker stationed on the road and the vehicles went up in flames.
The victims of the accident were later rushed to the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa where seven of them were confirmed dead.It was reliably gathered that other victims of the accident are
responding to treatment at the hospital while the corpses of the dead victims have been deposited at the morgue of the hospital.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr Imoh Etuk who confirmed the accident said his men were stationed on the road to prevent accidents but for the excessive speed of the drivers.
He said one of the vehicles involved in the accident belongs to Alibro Commercial Transport Company and urged members of the public whose “missing relatives” travelled along the road to check them at the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa.
