“It’s all about the Benjamins, baby.” Sean “Diddy” Combs’ massive fortune owes mostly to his nonmusical ventures, such as his deal with Diageo's Ciroc vodka.

Whatever Sean “Diddy” Combs is going by these days, there's one label sure to fit the hip-hop music

For the third year in a row, Diddy has topped Forbes' list of wealthiest hip-hop artists.

What does it take to be number one, as Diddy's colleague Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, fifth on the list, might ask? A cool $580 million, at least in estimated net worth.

Most of Diddy's dollars don't come from his musical ventures, the magazine points out. Rather, he's built up a fortune through lucrative ventures such as his deal with Diageo's Ciroc vodka.

The Bad Boys Records founder hasn't slowed down since he was first crowned hip-hop's richest by the magazine in 2011. In fact, his estimated worth has bumped up considerably from when he first entered on the chart at $475 million.

Rapper Jay-Z landed second on the list, with a net worth of $475 million, also keeping the spot he had in 2012. Andre "Dr. Dre" Young ranks third with, $350 million, followed by Cash Money Records founder Bryan "Birdman" Williams, with $150 million and 50 Cent with $125 million.

Of the five artists listed, Dr. Dre has seen the greatest increase in wealth over the past year, up $90 million for his investment in Beats Electronics headphones.

Diddy, meanwhile, isn’t resting on his monied laurels. The “It’s All About the Benjamins” singer has just launched a line of bottled water, AQUAhydrate, with actor Mark Wahlberg.
