Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lateef Ibirogba and the Head of Service, Adesegun Ogunlewe gave the warning yesterday, at a joint media briefing on the breakdown of the weekend services to the public, at Alausa, Ikeja.
Key ministries involved in the pilot phase are; Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ministry of Transportation and Land Bureau.
According to Ibirogba, designated government officials would be at their duty posts at their various ministries to attend to enquiries, complaints, site inspection and other related services, saying the development was geared towards enhancing government's service to the people.

As good as the program is we all know the implication. Eventually Saturday will become a working day throughout this country what happens to familes, children, even the health of the workers. The bible say God rested from his works pls let workers rest from their labor.
ReplyDeleteThe question is; will that bring the desired change?
ReplyDelete@anonymous 6:39, its only in xtianity that God get tired.

ReplyDeleteGuys, I wonder why working has become an issue to us. When there was no Job, you cry every day on goverment that there is no Job. Now that there are extra Jobs, you complain again.
ReplyDeleteTo the commentators: If Nigeria will get to move out of developing to being a developed nation, you can not rule out hard working. When we get to that point where there are jobs to pick up here and there, it then become a thing of choice for you to go for it or stay at home. Countries like America, Canada, UK, Switzerland etc. work 247 and for your information there life expectancy is far above Nigeria which is about 50years old.
Also, working does not take away the family values, all you need is to work out your time and ensure spending adequate time with your family. Poverty on the other hand is destrutive to a family.
On another note, it is important to note that the God we are talking about at leaast if its the same one that i know is a God that encourages HARD WORK. Read Proverb 14:23, Proverb 18:9 and also read Paul's letter to the Thessalonians (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12)
This article also clearly stated that allowance has been provided for affected workers so to me i feel its an extra cash for them.
In all, young folks, let your orientation change about work. If you are in the high school and waiting for your result, look around and find something to do if you can get.
Jobs like cleaning etc is not a bad idea. This also goes for University students presently in school or on break. There is nothing bad in picking up a job to support yourself/parent. Lets drop this old ideas that we have lived by for ages and has really not helped.
Work doesn't kill, but poverty does.
