JTF avert bloody Easter in Kano, secure primed suicide car

The Joint Military Taskforce has averted what would have a bloody Easter in the Northern Nigerian restive city of Kano following a combat operation that left 14 insurgents dead, a primed car laden with explosive for suicide attack and assorted weapons of war recovered.
The bloody operation that took place at Layin Yan’awaki , Ungwa-Uku General area of Tarauni local Council of the state brought economic activities in the commercial nerve centre of the northern Nigeria to a standstill while the operations that last.
Conducting newsmen round the battle ground, the Brigade Commander 3motorized Brigade, Bukavu barrack, Kano, Brigadier General Iliyasu Isa Abba stated that “my men was on cordoned and search operations in wee hours of this morning at Layin Yan’awaki, Ungwa –Uku general area when suddenly they came under fire from terrorists that triggered a gun duel”.
General Iliyasu Abba said that the ensuing firefight left 14 insurgents dead, while undisclosed numbers of others were arrested, stressing that “it was an opportunity to demonstrate our superior fire power, and the gallants officers and men gave a good account of themselves”.
The JTF recovered from the scene a Golf car primed with explosive which the commander revealed was ready for a “suicide mission in the city”, while 14 47 assault rifles were recovered.
Also recovered from the scene that comprises two adjourning houses in the dark spot includes several fabricated anti aircraft machines gun, a pump action, large quantities of Improvised Explosive Devices, and chemicals for making IED’s.
The entire Ungwa Uku general area was locked down by military men while the operation last as both human and vehicular movement was restricted along the strategic portion of Zaria road and Eastern Bye pass during the operation that lasted 6 hours.
In line with earlier vow of the JTF to demolished properties housing suspected terrorists in the state, military pull down the two houses and investigation is ongoing to track the property owners to face the law as an accomplice.
Panicked residence who woke up to deafening blast of explosives, and sporadic gunshot have continued to remain indoor several hours after the operation, this might not be unconnected with heavy presence of troop s that were still engage in a mop up operation. JTF have done a good job. But why spoli it by puling down the building, that is just as bad as whst BH is doing distroying properties.
ReplyDeleteThe said building could have being confisticated from the owners and govt can find a better use for it.
JTF pls address this flaw in your operation.

Pulling down houses harbouring criminals is a positive move, as landlords will be more careful in admitting tenants. Kudos to the JTFs we're praying for you surely darkness shall be consumed by light!
