Festus Keyamo declares Intrest in 2015 Delta governorship elections

HUMAN rights activist and lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo, Monday, unveiled his interest to contest the 2015 governorship elections in Delta State, saying it was time to unshackle the state from the dynasty of thieves.
He spoke in Effurun at the maiden meeting of the Delta Forces United, a political platform, which he is using to mobilize Deltans for his ambition.

Contacted, Wednesday, Mr. Keyamo said, “My mission is to take Deltans out of the present state of underdevelopment.”

A political activist, Monday Akpokene, who attended the meeting told Vanguard, “Keyamo did not mince words in condemning what he regarded as politics of cronyism, ethnicity and underdevelopment in the state and declared that time has come for the citizens to be liberated from the dynasty of thieves that has been created over the years in Delta State.”.

“He pointed out that there has not been much to show for the 14 years of the People Democratic Party, PDP, governance in the state other than a legacy of primitive accumulation and godfatherism, while the masses continue to live in abject poverty with little infrastructural development of the state,” my source said.

He said the activist vowed at the meeting to live the rest of his life for the betterment of Delta state, as Deltans, had been held hostage, over time, by members of a cabal, which does not see any other candidate as having the right qualities to govern.

  3. First two commentators:
This has always been our problem in Nigeria. Nigerians need to get themselves examined. If he does not contest for the election, who then should contest? Why then are you praying everyday that God should deliver you or Nigeria from the hands of the crazy Goverment of present? If you pray and you don't support it by action/work, the scriptures says its USELESS.
The same issue happened when Pastor Tunde Bakare started codemning the politicians and later came out to run for presidency. Most people on this site said crazy things about him.

My advise is, if you all, especially Youths with Integrity don't change your perception about getting involved in the politics of this nation, Nigeria will and i repeat will never grow.

It is high time we engaged ourselves in the country's affairs.

KEYAMO: May the good lord see you through and give you the grace to wistand this corrupt leaders.

  4. It takes strategic planning to go against the cabal in Delta state politics. Am from Delta North and won't support you. Delta north should given a chance to run the affairs of Delta - PH dude

  5. Politics is not all about words. If Festus wants to rule Delta state, he should come out with what he has for the states. A good road map to where he wants to take the state. If he is genuine, he will be supported. However, my problem with politicians comments lie solely in the fact that they cannot be taken at the surface. They all have deeper meanings. PEACE to all Deltans.Live your dream
