Members of the Super Eagles, who won the South Africa 2013 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, have been rewarded by the governor of Cross River State, Sen. Liyel Imoke.
He gave out cash reward of N25 million and land in ‘prime location’ to every member of the team.
The Governor also gave the sum of N5 million to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF. Not left out from the largesse is an indigene of the state, Peter Edibe, the only Nigerian match official at the AFCON 2013.
Governor Imoke during the reception demonstrated how he watched the final against Burkina Faso on his Samsung phone via ESPN4 while in the USA.
The Federal Government, some states governments and private individuals gave cash rewards and land as gifts to the Eagles after Nigeria won the Nations Cup in South Africa in February. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Now these stupid PDP Governors are competing on squandering their State finance allocation on any fancy projects. The fashionable one at the moment is presenting money and land plots to already very rich footballers. UK won many Gold and Silver Medals during the last Olympic. None of the the successful athletes received any Cash or land plot . All they had was the satisfaction of achievement and receiving medal of achievement from the QUEEN. That's civilization for you.
