Rivers State Government, has said that 25 persons were affected in the early morning fire outbreak at Ogolomo, in Okrika Local Government Area of the state, yesterday.
State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, said the government had also ensured that the casualties were treated at hospitals in the state.
She said minimal casualty would have been recorded, if Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had responded to distress calls by the people of the area.
She said: “NNPC refinery refused to send its fire truck despite the fact that this was fire a in a host community. The community had to battle until the Rivers State Fire Service arrived to put out the fire.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
