Very few Nigerians have made the Forbes list of richest people in the world the reason been that Forbes estimates the wealth of individuals and rank them based on the value of shares they have in quoted companies (companies listed on the stock exchange).
The few Nigerians that have the list are Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga and Femi Otedola.
The list of top 21 Richest Nigerian billionaires has been based on:
The value of their shares held in quoted companies, the size and market share of their companies, the number of companies they own and its assumed value, the market value of their company’s brand and the impact of their companies on the Nigerian economy.
Despite the harsh terrain and business challenges involved with starting a business in Nigeria; the successful entrepreneurs listed below held their ground and fought their way to the top.

ReplyDeleteWhy fooling us with your tale of these people working their ways to the top. They r criminals that have enriched themselves with tax payers' money. Dangote is d richest man in Africa yet was said to be one of those indebted to one of the fallen banks. Otedola on the other hand is a key suspect in the oil subsidy scandal. Name them. You r telling me they r rich. That's bullshit!
ReplyDeleteThe list is obviously not current.

Hmmmmmmmmm, all dos pple complaining, I don't them, its poverty I blame, you guys should stop hating & make money, instead of disceiving ursefs. If they stole money, they still enjoying it & you there, just dey Zuzu. Zobi!
ReplyDeleteSomething is definitely wrong with this List. It seems to me that those who prepared it are either ignorant of current facts or misinformed. Nobody doubts the fact that those mentioned have managed to make good money in this Country, but are some of them qualified to be listed among the richest Nigerians today given what we know of their current financial travails? Did the writers check with AMCON & CBN to note those blacklisted from any further borrowing from Banks on account of their humongous indebtedness? Is that our standard for measuring Billionaires? Why didn't they include Akingbola? Or has he suddenly become poorer than Ifeanyi Uba? Please tell that to Cosmas Maduka! What about people like Obasanjo, Atiku, Babangida etc including the Pension Funds looters? Surely they are equally Billoinaires in their own right! Afterall, in this Country of vanities, it certainly does not matter how we make our money, or does it?
ReplyDeleteWell! Worldly richness without Christ is Vanity. The poor Man with Jesus is far much richer than all these Men If they'r without christ.period

ReplyDeletea wealthy man is that man who has been blessed to be a blessing to others. These people are maggots food just like you and I. The question is: does it worth it? All your life struggles to loot and be rich or work hard and be rich and yet, u watch ur fellow human languish in pain and hunger? Vanity and insanity on the part of man.
