A meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and governors of the Peoples Democratic Party went underway in Abuja Sunday night in what is seen as an intervention by the president to intervene in the simmering crisis in the governors forum.
The Sunday meeting was shrouded in secrecy as reporters were herded out of the venue of the meeting shortly before it was to commence.
However, the Minister of Petroleum and Aviation, Diezani Allison-Madueke and Stella Oduah were seen walking into the venue of the meeting as journalists were going out of the venue of the meeting.
Some governors in the Forum, especially those that are seen as close to President Jonathan like Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, and Ibrahim Shehu Shema of Katsina are said to be the antagonists to the NGF incumbent leader, Amaechi of Rivers State for what they perceive as his arrogance and dictatorial tendencies.
More details soon.
The meeting was still on going at the time of this report.
